Brilliant film on Thursday Thu 15 Aug 19 at 19:45 Seance On A Wet Afternoon A medium stages a kidnapping which she will then 'solve' by pretending to be psychic. Stars Richard Attenborough as her down trodden husband with Nanette Newman & Kim Stanley. Is this the film where RA wears a prosthetic nose.? Excellent film. John Barry wrote the score.

Nannette Newman was quite a stunner in her day. Directed by her husband Bryan Forbes.

I bet Marion has seen Rocky Horror Picture Show on stage a few times. Be interested to hear her thoughts on the film.
Here in the U.S. they still regularly show the film at "Midnight Movie" events at the cinema and fans show up dressed as characters and act out the parts throughout. Its quite a spectacle just to people watch. Do they do the same in the UK?

Yes they do. Not sure it's at midnight but people do get dressed up and join in.

It looks like a lot of fun. I personally never found the film that interesting to take part myself. Plus I am a little too shy to do that. But I did find the people watching interesting.

People dress up for the theatre shows, there aren't so many independant cinemas so there's not as many showings, although you do find them occasionally. Prince Charles in London shows it pretty regularly. I went to a showing on Halloween 2yrs ago around my way (not midnight though) and dressed up as one of the party goers, I don't think I'd go beyond that though. I had everything except for bow tie, cummerbund and tailcoat. Got a set off Amazon, they had every colour under the sun and a second hand tailcoat for £25, which I still have (doesn't fit though now:-( ) which I adore. I love the film, the music is very catchy and I think it flies by so quickly, the sign of a good film for me.

I 've never seen it live! I missed it first time round in London and the later productions have too much audience participation for me, lol. But I really enjoyed the film. Perhaps a matinee at somewhere like Wimbledon would be more restrained.

I know you are a theatre goer Marion as I lurked on this website for a week or two before mustering up the courage to join in. Our Mr. Trump hasn't created a lot of goodwill for us with our comrades around the world. I wasn't sure how welcome I might be. Everyone seems very nice!

I reckon the U.S. cinemas show it at midnight because they don't want the ado during a regular Friday/Saturday night evening and don't want to take a first run film off of one of their screens during the regular part of the evening. So they run it at midnight when the regular showtimes are over.
