What a brilliant episode. Harrowing and so very sad. Beautifully acted by all concerned. Loved the doppelganger character twist
Well done to everybody at Emmerdale

Arhh, just read on Digispy that they're filming a wedding today. I think it's the Robron wedding. It better be! These two are gonna send me to an early grave!

Paddy and Marlon, 5 minutes of comedy gold. Any cocktails? Brilliant. I haven't watched the 2nd episode yet but the 1st episode with the scenes with Marlon and Paddy had me laughing out loud. That's why I hope this wins all the soap awards, the humour is actually funny (for the most part) the drama is really good and you have a good mix of characters that you like, find funny, root for and despise ! EE is getting all depressing again and the Phelan storyline in Corrie is starting to get over the top and boring. This is by far my fave soap at the moment:-)

Just watching the 2nd episode. Marlon-"Meatballs? I've got three sausages, I could split one between...I'll just do chicken fajitas."! Lol
Why doesnt Finn leave Kasim alone, he's not worth it. Finn's lovely, he'll find someone eventually.

Ohhh, that dinner party was so awkward, I had to watch through my fingers at some points because of the awkwardness. When they asked who Rhona fancied and she said Cain Dingle, about 3seconds before Pierce I said the same thing "I think they're supposed to be famous."

Yes the dinner party was really cringeworthy....but I'm worried Rhona isn't going to let on how she's being treated by Piers.....hope she doesn't go back to drugs.
I loved Charity and the bank heist/tranquilizer gun!!
And the Ashley story line is SO well done....very, very moving....so glad they won the soap award. They've been better than the others for some time now, imho

Totally agree. The Charity gun thing was so OTT but funny. And the Ashley storyline is being played so well not just by Ashley but by Doug and Diane and Laurel. You could see the frustration on Doug that he couldn't help his daughter with this but to give her money which would at least help in other ways, like getting him the right care home. And Pierce is a creepy character. One minute he seems lovely but the next hes making really nasty digs at people and only wanting Rhona all to himself. Maybe this is why Tess had an affair in the first place, because he's so controlling.
Definately deserved the NTA award.

Characters evolve in Emmetdale as they do in real life . Ashley's children are showing such love & kindness , and maturity. There are so many different threads of comedy, sadness a bit of action , it's been my favourite for so long . I'm so pleased it won an award .

I was pleased they won too. As regards Pierce, maybe this forceful habit of his was why his wife Tess detested him so much.

It's the RobRon wedding tonight :-) I've read that it's doesn't go without a hitch which is a bit of a shame since they've been through so much to get there.

Has there ever been a wedding in soapland that doesn't go without a hitch of some kind? The same goes for child birth too.

Talking of child births, there's one of those on Corrie tonight as well, lets hope there's no deaths in EE's tonight, but it's been more than a week so I'm not ruling anything out!
I almost spontaneously combusted when I saw this picture on a magazine cover in the shop yesterday:-) Sorry, but they're so cute together, much better than Robert and Chrissie! I'm not looking forward to...SPOILER
SPOILER CONT. ...the next 12mths. :'-(

The Ashley storyline gets more harrowing.
Hats off to the writers and actors involved, makes it so believable.

Blimey! Emmerdale was pretty harrowing tonight. The scenes with Aaron in prison were heart breaking and awkward phone call where everyone was "fine". I was shouting at the screen just tell each other the truth.
I did laugh when Jason asked Aaron if the prison cell reminded him of anything and he said "Yeah, your mom's house, cause it stinks and is full of fellas." So unexpected, but true to life that his character in that situation would say that. Unlike some of the stuff out of the mouths over at Enders.
