The classic wickerman is on CBS this weekend Fantastic film. What is CBS? Does anyone remember Channel 4 film nights, with the Stella Artois sponsorship/advertising? Often late on a Sunday night, a bit inconveniently, but they showed a lot of good films then, and definitely The Wicker Man would have been one.

For fans of 60s British pop music 'Telstar the Joe Meek Story' on BBC2 tonight 24/09/16 23.30 is well worth watching or recording.

Don't know whether it's been reviewed before but just watched Bridge of Spies, Tom Hanks and Mark Rylance, amazing performances. For once a true story told without the usual American whooping and hollering, for those who don't feel the need for violence, swearing and all that gory stuff but just want an amazing story told as truthfully as possible then this is it.

Oh, thanks for the review, Holly. I was wondering if I would like it.

The Wonder Boys is now on iPlayer, with Michael Douglas and quite a good cast of actors. An intelligent film, worth a watch, watched it first time round back in 2000. Nice to be able to see some older films in HD quality.

No need to be sorry Sqwerty, each to their own but you should have watched it to the end and your opinion might have changed.

Just watched 'The Prestige', absolutely loved it but then I'm a BIG fan of 'The Illusionist' too, can highly recommend both films if you're into magic.

Two old films I have watched recently, a very famous groundbreaking classic horror, Psycho - still has the power to shock. Must have been fantastic for cinema audiences seeing that for the first time!
Also, The Thing (directed by John Carpenter, 1982, soundtrack by Ennio Morricone). Deeply creepy and very gory, it's a striking film, will stay with you.
