Worthy winner, I reckon. She was never close to going out even if she didn't win every week.

Sophie was not showy in her style - she just worked away quietly and thoroughly. I don't mean she was dull in any way, but there were no tears or panics - just a clever amateur baker who deserves her success.

I really liked Sophie so was pleased she won. Kate did well in the showstopper too. Steven's entremet was so short in comparison to the other two, a real disappointment from him. I was surprised to discover it actually had the right number of layers!

Just watched the slice. I thought Kate came over very well on TV, extremely natural. Sophie is posher than I thought.

Loved the final Extra Slice - the beginning, with all 12 bakers, was classic. Much mirth at Pru's tweeting blunder.
Paul "She's in Nepal at the moment"
Jo "Is the having another go at Everest?".
Some wonderful cakes from the viewers - and some not so good. The ghost biscuits were scary but not for the right reason.

I loved it too. I have been rooting for Sophie from the start, so I was delighted she won. They should have a full page of the photos on the website. (So glad Steven didn't win. Just too smug for my liking. And Kate really wasn't up to it)

Thank you Bouncy. Bloody Channel 4 is still only advertising it as "coming soon"

I hope they worked out a way of air-conditioning the tent. There will be people passing out otherwise. Unless they filmed it in Scotland!
