Two new shows in this strand started this week and they are both showing all episodes on TV, although episode 1 will need to be viewed on All4 or whatever it's called (I forgot to post last week!).
Before We Die Channel 4, Tuesday 11.00. A Swedish series about apoliceman who has been kidnapped. His mistress is one of the officers searching for him. I thought this was quite proficient and liked the fact that there were no ridiculously glamorous officers!
Rebecka Martinsson:Arctic Murders More 4, Friday 9.00. Episode 1 was feature length. A Danish lawyer returns home -I'm guessing North! - after the death of a childhood friend. I haven't watched this yet but I suspect a higher glamour factor! PS I thought this was Danish but in fact it is in Swedish.

Ah! I never bother watching WP cos it never says on the EPG whether they will show all of them or not.

I'm watching both these (weekly on TV, not all at once through All4). It looks like 'Before We Die' is one story continuing over 10 episodes. 'Rebeckah Martinsson' however consists of four separate stories, the remaining three stories each to be split over 2 weeks, so missing the first episode might not matter so much with this one.
Of the two so far I prefer 'Before We Die', which is becoming quite intriguing.

Rebeca Martinsson.
Did anyone watch this week's episode? I have no idea why the woman was killed, and I rewatched the scene where the killer is asked why he had her murdered but was still none the wiser!

Rebeca Martinsson. Did anyone watch this week's episode? I have no idea why the woman was killed, and I rewatched the scene where the killer is asked why he had her murdered but was still none the wiser! I was quite confused too, and had to do some back checking! I think I understand why she was killed, but not why she had to be tortured. My take as follows, "spoilerised" in case anyone else around hasn't watched the episode yet: {Spoiler} All the business of the mining, rare mineral, Australians etc. is a big red herring. Ester Kallis was raped by her foster father when young (12?). The house with the whole foster family in it burnt down in 1984, killing them all and also injuring Ester but she survived. Mauri Kallis was at the scene (his distinctive hat being found there) and no doubt started the fire but police couldn't prove it at the time. Journalist Bylund had researched this historical case and was going to go to the police with his findings, so he had been killed, probably by Ester protecting her brother. Inna found out what the Kallises had been up to so that's why they needed to do away with her as well. If you still have a recording look at the bit with Rebecka and Anna Maria in the car just after the final advert break, around 45-50 minutes in.

Thank you very much! I got most of that but not the involvement of Inna: in fact it seemed she had absolutely no connection with any of it to me!!! I no,longer have the recording but may look on All4 if I get time today.

Rough Justice.
A new show starts tonight on More4 at 9.00. This is a Belgian crime series about police superintendent Liese Meerhout. RT seemed to like it.

I'm on to it and will definitely give Rough Justice a go.
I quite enjoyed Rebecka Martinsson. It had become obvious she wasn't going to be settling for a bourgeois life back in Stockholm with her nice though unexciting boyfriend, but it ended more unhappily for her than I expected. Will there be another series? - I don't think any more books have been written to base new episodes on, so probably not.
Though things in it have got quite unpleasant now, I'm still watching Before We Die weekly and finding it gripping.

I thought Rebecka Martinson improved as it went on and quite enjoyed it. Before We Die is a harder kettle of fish but has been well done I think. This week was episode 8/10 but it seems to have vanished from my EPG, possibly because of the Paralympic coverage? I shall finish it on All4 rather than waiting to see when it comes back (and forgetting the plot!).

I've just been watching. I found it OK, but so far not one to rave about particularly. Looks like it will be a different case each week, to be wrapped up in around 45 minutes of programme time, so things move along pretty fast and I had to keep my wits about me to take it all in. We see short bits of the main character's off-duty life though not yet those of the other members of her team.

It's skipped a week so I decided to do the same as you, and have now watched it all. It's been good. Quite a thrilling finale, and at the end a hook for a possible second series.

Yes, I agree with you about the finale, exciting! How nice to watch something which maintained its momentum and didn't fizzle out in the end. The Mimicas were a good looking family weren't they? I thought the mother was very attractive and I had serious hair envy! I really liked the way they played out the relationship between Christian and his mother. Walter has picked some good shows.
