I haven't done that yet as the dog gets really fed up if we are awake past midnight!

It's probably just me but I'm finding the Canadian team to be really unsporting. During the curling they've been using mind games and smirking. The Canadian skaters have been doing fist pumps in the middle of performances! I thought Canadians were meant to be nice polite people.

How long have they had fixed ski tracks on the ski jumping hills for the skiers to go down? I thought it just used to be ice.

They've had them for years, I think. Never really thought about it. Plus if the wind is high, you'd want to a track to go down. Otherwise you could be going sideways!

I have never seen them before, but then a) we don't get to see a lot, and b) we don't always get the close up of them going down the hill I suppose! I tried to google it and saw some reference to new technology in Sochi but don't know if that was the track or just the Olympic debut. Perhaps neither!!!!!!

This is film of 2010 in Vancouver and you're right, there's no track. There are grooves but they are made out of the ice.

Christopher Dean being interviewed in the studio by Hazel on BBC2. And showing their paso doble from 1984, marvellous! I am hopeful that this means some skating may be on soon. I havent been able to find any detailed schedules for what's on when so I can record it.

My original post has a link to the schedule, Marion. I've found it more useful to record the RB overnight and then I can watch the bits I want to watch the next morning.

That isn't what I'm talking about. All the teams do that, it's part of the game. I'm talking about the stuff that goes on in between the curls. The Canadian bloke especially plays a lot of mind games with what he says. And the two of them are really smug about it as well. And I've seen it affect the other team. It's cheating, in my view. All the other teams are very sporting. Like the Chinese conceding one end cos they accidently moved a stone during the count. I was very impressed with that.

I shall look (and listen) more carefully when they play in the final. Sounds like sledging in cricket.

But without the swearing and the insults about the other player's mother!
