Thanks for the info, Miranda I love the curling! Apparently there's been controversy already

They've already had two rounds of games from what Steve Cram was just saying. He's also said something about the controversy but not what caused it.

Thanks Eamonn!
That was very sporting of the Chinese team. Like in bowls and snooker. Well done them.

I thought the red button was about to show some curling, according to the EPG, but in fact it is figure skating. The short programmes for the men and pairs in the team event. A poor German chap is having a bit of a nightmare whilst dancing to a ghastly big band version of Wonderwall.
So best not to rely on the EPG as usual in the Olympics.

Oh shoot. I was going to rely on it a lot as SK is about 8 hours in front of us.

I have been successfully recording the curling using times given by my Tivo box. On Saturday it seems to be from midnight to 1am on BBC1 then 1 to 4 on red button. On Sunday and Monday: BBC1 from midnight to 1, then RB from 1 to 2 and 11 am to 1pm. Tuesday: BBC1 from midnight to 1, then RB from 1 to 2, 4 to 5 and 11 to12 (doubles final).
It may be best to allow for over-runs.

Just watching some live ski jumping which is badly affected by the wind. It is still going on at close to midnight and the temperature is -12C, not allowing for windchill! They keep having to come off the gate and get wrapped in a fleece blanket as they wait for the wind to drop! They have just moved the gate and have to compensate the late jumpers with extra points.
Ollie, our man at the jumping, has just told us that weight is an issue in ski jumping. It's like modelling and now you have to have a minimum BMI because some guys were almost starving themselves. Ollie said some had had a diet of 200 calories a day! Aerodynamics apparently.

Yes he is! There's quite a few RAF moustaches in that team.

The team pairs skating was just wonderful today, as was the snowboarding, and luge. I do love the winter olympics. I must do some exercise before I sit down and binge watch!

Well I did a silly thing last night - I stopped up watching the overnight coverage of the ladies slopestyle final and the qualifiers for the ladies half pipe. It was made more interesting due to the very windy weather but a real shame for the ladies who had trained for four years to then come a cropper because of the conditions. I'm now shattered and will be snoozing during the rest of the day...
