Have you ever seen him on Would I Lie to You? He is such a brilliant raconteur that, no matter how far fetched his story they can never tell if he's lying and he always reduces everyone to tears of laughter. I love him.

Really only knew him from programmes with Vic Reeves and they did not tickle my funny bone - I will have to investigate further...

No, I didn't find him and Vic Reeves funny either but WILTY made me a big fan. Did you know he was a solicitor before he becane a comedian?

Yes - that's one of the things I picked up from this programme, didn't know before. Got to have a keen mind for both professions

I wish they hadn't changed the time though. Wasn't it on at 10pm before? Now it clashes with other stuff. Don't think so prof as I think I watched it in real time whereas, if it had been 10pm I would have recorded it. I could be wrong though! It was on Wednesdays at 10pm before.

Must remember to watch tonight, think it is 8pm?
Love it - love it especially Bob Mortimer. They were so funny on the One Show, and hilarious clip of Bob falling over all the time. Or as PW said " he has a problem with gravity"

I had never thought of watching this but, after these comments, I'll have to give it a try.

It is what the BBC does best - accidental brilliance. Two similarly aged old friends, both having undergone major heart surgery, enjoying the British countryside and fishing together. Paul is much better at it than Bob, but Bob tries hard.
The comedy comes from their natural banter.

Wasn't that sublime? Two blokes enjoying themselves in the most beautiful setting you can imagine. What's not to like? I did expect Bob to get a ducking in the river on numerous occasions though! Lovely stuff.

Yes, I was waiting for him to go under as he waded about. What a lovely setting, the River Usk.

Paul : I was hoping David Baddiel would be available
Bob: I would replace you with Holly Willoughby.
Paul's baby photo - with "hooves". Then the school one "at least one hand is not deformed".
The breathtaking scenery, gentle background music and natural wit - and pathos - between the men is wonderful to see. They edit the programme themselves so admit they are more than happy to leave in a nice river scene or view.

The bit with the baby photos had me laughing out loud. And wouldn't you love to stay in Sycamore Barn with that view to enjoy? When my husband was alive we spent several holidays touring in that part of the country and so it was a real joy for me to see it again.

What a total joy this is. The gentle natural banter is such a refreshing change from the forced ‘jolity’ we get lumbered with. Carry on fishing chaps.
