Watching now. So far, I’m loving Bronwyn James.
ETA, I’m also quite impressed that this seems to be the daughter’s first role.

It came as a surprise to us that a crime commissioner, who doesn’t have any police background, has the power to hire and fire a chief constable. I enjoyed it, my husband didn’t, so I shall probably watch it while he’s watching somebody hitting a ball.

I don't know what to make of Wild Bill. It's rather unbelievable but quite entertaining. The case in this first episode was fairly cleverly put together and just about convincing. I have to say the depiction of the county so far is bleak and unflattering, and doesn't make me want to move there - I'm guessing Lincolnshire tourist board weren't involved with this production...

I guess if you like flat country with a big sky you'd like Lincolnshire. And most of the middle of America is flat country with a big sky. The lack of trees would do my head in, though.

I enjoyed it. I like the young CID officer. And the PC's claim of the head made me laugh.

I can’t find any information about what qualifications you need to become a PCC .or what they’re paid.

I liked it enough to give it another go next week.
I didn’t think a lot about the tourist aspect - if anything, it was Vera-ish. I like that windswept landscape look. And they’re not going the eccentric/yokel Brit route, instead bringing in the austerity cuts story. I noticed on IMDB that Oleg is a continuing character, so they’ll also be following the problem of organised crime.

I stayed with it but I thought it was all a bit cliched and improbable. Wild Bill himself is more like a Chief Inspector than a Chief Constable who, I am sure, wouldn't get involved in investigating individual crimes with a young detective as his side-kick. What was the point of that car chase over farmland other than to show he is a man who acts before he thinks? The daughter was the best character in it for me. I haven't made up my mind whether to keep watching. It certainly isn't a must for me.

I enjoyed it. It wasn't too serious, he did his part well and I liked the way he related to his daughter and DC Yeardsley. I wasn't very keen onthe Deputy CC who seemed unlikely to be at that level to me, but otherwise it was a pretty good cast I thought. And a daughter who isn't an entitled brat! Someone who accepts her Dad has to work! I hope it doesn't tail off! Obviously it is highly unusual to have a Chief Constable dealing with cases!! And I also can't see how the one Commissioner could have appointed him, surely candidates have to go before a board? Mind you he did say no one else wanted the job, although I am pretty sure a Chief Constable position would be snaffled up because once you have the rank you are in a very elite group, aren't you?

I think we need to suspend our disbelief to watch this, then it’s fun. I’m another Rob Lowe fan 🥰

I'll be staying with its it's different and an absorbing watch for me as the politics of most dramas mean little or nothing to me, my goodness it's a long way up to the top of them,is there a lift ?

I did think she must have jumped a long way out for the top of one of the sails to decapitate her.
