What is going on in The Archers? There isn't one cheerful storyline at the moment. Sheila Dillon's appearance was a damp squib, and I'm relieved that Alison Steadman's Olwen has gone, if she has. I wouldn't wish Olwen on anyone, not even Helen. Will I imagine is building up to a custody battle over Jake and Mia, which he will presumably lose, and Shula's utterly selfish behaviour is baffling, as is Alistair behaving like a complete doormat. Not sure what Brian is up to, but at least his plotting is not out of character. Is anything going well for anyone?

Well I'm sorry to admit it, but I most certainly would wish Olwen on Helen! I was pleased someone came to divert Pol Pat away from being Helen's slave, LOL.
Is it just me, or is Will being decidedly OTT in his state of mourning. I mean last week he took offence when someone used the phrase orphan lambs, which is a regular term. And he seems to take the children to the grave several times a week. No wonder Jake wants to stay with Andrew.
I agree about Alistair. A lucky escape if you ask me.
I see in the paper that next week Lexi gets her result. I hope it is negative as I cannot bear the thought of Moody and Broody sighing over her for the next nine months! Broody already talks about nothing else. And Jennifer cooking suitable food! If I were Lexi, already a mother of two, I would find Jennifer's attitude completely condescending and unacceptable. (We would have had a row by now!)

Pol Pat! I love your abbreviations! Pat and Helen deserve each other. I do think they're overdoing Will's visits to Nic's grave and hypersensitivity to people who love him and are trying to help. Disappointing as Will has been pretty sensible in the past. I actually admired Eddie for voicing his concerns and his grief over his own bereavement years ago, which I don't remember but which was presumably part of the plot at the time. Jennifer is a dreadful snob whom Lexi has put in her place before now and I'm hoping will do again when Jennifer overdoes the cooking, mollycoddling etc.

Will certainly seems to be turning into Queen Victoria. He will spend the rest of his days in black, being a plague on his children and (hopefully?) spending an extended period of exile in the Isle of Wight.

On a.positive note, the embryo transfer failed! Let us hope they do not get hold.of another egg. Actually I dont know what is worse, Ian as a blissful father banging on about his behbeh, or the grief we will no doubt have to wade through. It is bad enough with Will at the moment.

Now it's Shula I want to slap. Could she be any more of a hypocrite? Alistair is well shot of her! Though I feel for Judy Bennett in having to carry off some pretty dire lines.
For once I'm feeling a bit sorry for Susan, though it looks as if Will is finally being made to understand that his mum can't step in and do everything.

I was so pleased when Alistair did the walk of shame and was extremely irritated when he began apologising and saying he regretted it. He should have told the old bat that it was terrific! At least Will went round to see Susan and apologise rather than just calling or texting her.I
My least favourite character at the moment is that petulant boy Freddie with his silver spoon strangling his vowels. Personally I am cheering Ellis on! And why is Freddie so astonished that when you encroach on another dealer's territory, there may be some action taken?

Freddie is indeed awful, though I think the actor is playing the part well. I hope he'll get his come-uppance but I dare say Mummy will rescue him from himself, again. We must be due another bout of Pip and her pregnancy again soon – she's been a bit quiet lately.

Now we have another dreadful Archers man in Russ. Lily being infatuated with an older man is not surprising, but why does he have to be such a slimy git? They just can't help making their characters completely over the top. I sincerely hope that she sees the light, he is prosecuted or at least sacked before he can resign, Freddie gets a spell inside, Shula comes a cropper in the divorce court and something horrible happens to Helen, something permanent this time. But I'm not holding my breath.

I think he's hilarious though! Three speed kettle, Egyptian cotton duvets, tagine, his own special bread.... And all the posh stuff paid for by Elizabeth. I can't stand any of the living Pargetters, only poor old Nigel. Freddie is a whiney brat (it's so unfair, I was only dealing a few drugs) and Lily is like someone attending a 1950s cocktail party.
I also hope Lexi doesn't come back to bear Ian and Adam's offspring.
And that Helen, having vetoed all Tom's ideas as they cost too much money, gets trampled by the dairy herd she has demanded they buy for her manky old cheese.

Bit surprised at Freddie's sentence, given that it's a first offence. But delighted that he didn't get away with it, little twerp.
Shula really is insufferable, as are her family – whose fault was this divorce if not hers? It's difficult to think of a single likeable character at the moment. Lothario Brian is almost benign by comparison.

Given that no one seemed to think he would get anything other than a fine of community service, Freddie's sentence was a bit of a shocker. The judge seemed to suggest he got it because he came from a privileged home so I assume a pauper would have got a lesser one. That seems very odd to me. But what I haven't liked is the way people (well Kenton mainly!) have taken against Harrison for arresting him in the first place. I mean trying to sell drugs in the middle of a.police stag do was stupid in the extreme! I can't imagine Kenton would be prepared to turn a blind eye to poor people dealing drugs in The Bull. The letter grassing up Ellis and revealing that Freddie had dealt drugs before the incident didn't do him much good, did it? But perhaps if it was read out and Kenton heard the full story, he will realise Freddie wasn't quite the innocent he thought......
I was shocked this week by the way Elizabeth spoke to Alistair, saying he was no longer family etc.. She was very surly and I would have told her where to go, rather than being sympathetic about her Freddie problems. And he is such a whining boy, isn't he? As soon as he starts with his "it's so unfair" lament my hackles rise!!!!!

Aargh! I don't think I can bear much more of Jill telling her brood that what Elizabeth needs is love and understanding, not a lesson in the realities of life. I sincerely hope that involving Anna is not going to lead to Freddie getting away with it. That said though, I do agree the judge giving him a harsher sentence because of his privileged background was unethical and I would have thought could be challenged. Lily has been a bit quiet – is that over, do we think, or is her awful boyfriend going to cause more trouble?

Funnily enough I heard a news item in the radio the other day where a judge gave someone a more lenient sentence precisely because he came from a privileged/ reasonably affluent background. I immediately thought of Freddie! My heart sinks at the return of Anna Tregorran though.
I am also sick to death of the hilarious highjinks between Tom and the ghastly Hannah. Those pathetic rows to put Johnny off the scent, ugh. And I think she is a pretty unpleasant character, always making snide comments under cover of joking.
Will Lexie ever return from Bulgaria, I wonder. It seems odd that the gruesome twosome aren't getting worried about her extended absence.

That makes even less sense! Background should make no difference at all, surely. If Freddie is guilty, which we know he is, then he should get whatever is the going rate, so to speak, for his offence. I've no sympathy for the snivelly little rat but I do think his sentence should be fair. While I'm at it, I hope someone will set Brian straight that Nolly is not the little angel they seem to think she is. From what I remember, she was the one calling the shots when she overdosed.
I think the cat is now out of the bag regarding Tom and Hannah, isn't it? So there shouldn't be any more mock rows, thank goodness. I agree she's not very nice and – is it Emma or Fallon? – doesn't like her either.
Adam and Ian are not in the limelight at the moment, are they? But I don't doubt they'll be back, angst-ridden as ever. Pity as I like Ian when he isn't talking about babies or trying to sort out Helen and her cheese.
BTW have I ever said how much I like your avatar? I've just been pruning roses in the teeth of a gale and yours look really lovely.
