I think I might wait until this comes on Britbox. First ad break was 10 ads! Can't be doing with it.
BB is the only streaming service I've got now as they offered 3 months for the price of 1.

I'm another who's really enjoying it. Martin Clunes is excellent, as in the first series.

I always tend to think of Martin Clunes as more of a comic actor but this series of Manhunt and the previous one are showing me how wrong I've been. He is a very good serious actor too.

I'm really impressed with the writing as well. The conversation between Colin and Pauline about how she is affected by having to listen to all those stories from the victim was done beautifully. You don't often get to see their point of view, but as he said, she really is at the sharp end.

How good is this. I am so impressed with Martin, he is really good at drama isn’t he.

It's the quiet pace of it all. The way the victims are portrayed. How honest he is. The problems within the team. And the fact that after 17 years and all of those attacks it took this one man to get enough man power to catch the criminal.
And we all know there is going to be a lucky break somewhere.

The last episode had me in tears. I agree with everything that has been said about the writing, the acting, the direction: they all combine to make it feel as though you are watching something unfold in real time. Even though we know the eventual outcome, the tension created by the surveillance and that chase is almost unbearable I find.

I hope that man is never let out of prison in the future. On top of the crimes he committed, to then try and blame his poor son to wriggle out of it just beggars belief.
There is a documentary next Thursday at 9pm on ITV called The Real Manhunt: the Night Stalker featuring interviews with the police officers involved in Operation Minstead which will be interesting in view of the mistakes that were made. I feel guilty about being so enthralled by this series, given that these were terrible real crimes committed against real people who, along with their families, must have suffered appalling trauma and in some cases maybe, are still suffering.

Mistakes always get made. Nobody was connecting a burglar with a burglar who was also raping people and he didn't always leave the same clues. Also Hackney is a long way from Shirley. I'm sure they regret those mistakes but when you see the resources they needed to finally catch him you can see why it was so hard without them.
