Did anyone watch this last night ?,and continuing on Monday and Tuesday?
Thought it was very good and Martin Clunes is always watchable, lots of police procedure shown and how they have to plough on with not much to go on.
Excellent true-life drama.

We’ve recorded it to watch tonight. Sounds like it’ll be worth watching.

It is very good. I remember the Millie Dowler case. It’s good and terrible, because it’s not a fiction, it happened.

I watched and thought it was well done. Martin Clunes played the DCI ( "I'm more John Major than Churchill") very well IMHO.
I just hope that Levi Bellfield and his mates can't watch this in prison.

Ah. I didn't realise it was the Millie Dowler case. I thought it was a fictional drama. I might catch up then.

I saw it too. And yes it's very good indeed.
It's not actually the Millie Dowler case, but it has been mentioned in passing as it happened at roughly the same time - 2004. The person who has been murdered is French student Amélie Delagrange on Twickenham Green. I think Martin Clunes might be investigating both cases at the same time, but this series focuses on Amélie.

They later realise that it’s the same killer. Millie Dowler had been killed 2 years previously, and there had been no new leads.

Yes, I thought that was probably the case.

Just watched parts 1 & 2 and I'm also finding it very good. I like Martin Clunes in more serious roles.

We've just finished watching episode 2. Extremely good. It's getting my heart rate going because, even though it's non-fiction, I'm worried that the murderer will get away. There seem to be several murders all connected although they're initially investigating one - that of Amelie Delagrange (?).
It's terrifying, though, to think just how much influence the tabloid editors have. I wonder how many murderers have "got away" due to media interference in their thirst to be first for a "scoop".

Yes I thought that too and of course we later found out that it wasn't a leak from the police team, it was the paper hacking into the phones. Now what happened to that massive inquiry and its conclusion - nothing changed in the end, it just petered out didn't it. None of politicians wanted to be the one that stopped the press behaviour for fear of what they might write about them. I did wonder if the Communication Officer for the Met wasn't in on the take, but I am probably wrong there - I do seem to recall some police officers being sacked or prosecuted.
Just one note - he looks much to old to be married to the wife in the programme.

Flicking through schedules, l notice there is a documentary, probably been on before, on Ch 5 at 10 called The Real Manhunt and at the same time on Sky Witness something called Levi Bellfield .
Conveniently. ......
