I think it's getting better. A pattern seems to be emerging - the "outed" ones will pretend that Maggie was correct - being the lesser of two evils, rather than risk what they've actually done getting out.
(Maybe not Julie Hesmondhalgh - she seems bent on revenge.)

I enjoyed it last night but agree the woman is ghastly. I also expect it to turn out as suggested by GMan. However, I hope it isn't all pally pally by the end because I don't think that would be realistic. I think the best I would manage after being called unworthy of a job, a bit of a goer or a criminal on air, would be cordiality.

I enjoyed this but she is so unpleasant. I wouldn't think many people want much to do with her.
That said...there is a lot to come out about what is going on in that village I reckon.

I'm enjoying it too and am longing to see how it pans out: it is just Maggie herself I don't like. Are we meant to dislike her or....as I suspect is the case...see her as a loveable, ditzy sort who just can't help putting her foot in her mouth? That doesn't work for me.

I’m with everyone else on this. Maggie is horrible. If Jill ends up forgiving her for the sake of a cozy ending, I will be truly ticked off.

I haven't watched this but I used to work with someone who came across as a loveable ditzy sort who couldn't stop putting her foot in her mouth but I always believed she did it on purpose to cause trouble. She was passive aggressive in a lot of other ways as well and I'm sure she knew what she was doing.

Does that wretched woman EVER stop talking? And it's usually all about her. I have to keep watching now so that I haven't wasted the three hours I've already given it but, honestly, I dislike Maggie more and more.

She is ghastly I agree but I still quite like the show.

Agree marion, the rest of the characters are fine and the story is intriguing me but I still find it difficult when I dislike the main character so much. How has that nice husband put up with her for so long? Probably because he IS nice.

Seems I'm alone in not disliking Maggie. I think she's heading for more grief though - looks like her husband and son are hiding something.

There is a lot more coming out now isn’t there.

Hmm. So we saw a little more of the accident scene - namely the “Save the Bees” sign/sticker on the car...which the author also seems to have in his car. Was it the same car?
My dislike of Maggie is only topped by my dislike of Peter’s PA.

Yes, it's a typical role for Vicki Pepperdine and the sort she plays well.

My dislike of Maggie is only topped by my dislike of Peter’s PA. And I thought it looks as though the accident will happen at the parade that's being planned because there were a lot of people around. I wonder what secret it is that Maggie's husband and son are hiding? So much for her smug, " There are no skeletons in OUR cupboard".

Could anyone read what the "secret scandal" was? I couldn't make out any details.
