I think it was let down by the stupid premise of Lisa having sex with the guy then deleting the evidence. I think it would have had just as much impact as a straightforward story without that gimmick. I mean not a lot of impact, obviously, but it was a reasonable watch I thought. It was perhaps rescued by the cast who on the whole turned in some decent performances.

Just imagine Ted Hastings' reaction to that!

I thought the ending was underwhelming.

It was a bit wasn’t it? And unless I missed it we never found out who moved the body to the beach

I was waiting for Sam to say he moved the body or, at least for Lisa to ask him about it but it didn't happen. I ended up assuming it must have been Sam.

Yes, I assumed Sam moved it, there wasn't anyone else involved. Sam did say to Lisa "I had to get rid of everything" when she asked him about Holly's rucksack, so I took that to mean the body as well.

THE Bay has been confirmed for a second series which will see Morven Christie return as Detective Lisa Armstrong.
ITV announced the commission of a second series for the gripping crime drama earlier today.

Well I'd rather see The Bay again than The Widow, but I hope we don't have the same knee trembler premise! It didn't need that distraction. Hopefully she won't be out on the razz when the next murder occurs.

Don't think I'll bother with it again.

So would I. I'll watch series 2. I gather it's likely to have the same police characters with Lisa still being a family liaison officer, but a different family.
