As for Coco's mother, if I'd been through what she'd been through, I'd be jumping up and down as well! I don't understand. "What she'd been through". Has she been ill? It was her ferocity that scared me. |

Maybe you should have watched the match, Fox. She wasn't being ferocious. She was excited and happy and relieved. What she went through was watching her daughter come within a point of going out of Wimbledon and then fight her way back into the game. On the way showing determination, passion, self-control and a mental strength that is rare in one so young. Without being able to do a thing to help her.

The other thing I enjoyed about that match was the commentating. Martina and Tracey go well together. They have distinctive voices so you can tell who is talking and Martina's explanations of why a shot was a good or a bad one were really interesting. As someone who has never played tennis, it's good to learn the mechanics from an expert.

Riske has beaten Barty before. Quite heavily as well. A lot of people on Twitter thinks it's because of the screaming. Barty needs to learn to ignore it cos it's not going to stop know everyone knows she can't cope with it.

Personally I wish the whole shrieking/grunting thing was banned. It won't be, of course, just wishful thinking. Maria Sharapova was the worst as hers sometimes started before she'd even hit the ball.

Excellent game on court 2 between Muchova and Pliskova, nearing a fifth set tie break as they are 11-11.
Poor old Coco couldn't handle Halep. She has done brilliantly though.
Re the screaming, I had to switch off Halep vs Azarenka the other day.
Update.
No tie break. MUchova won! Knocked out the number 3 seed. So the top three seeds are out.
