This game reminded me of why I don't normally watch Rafa. By crikey he's dull to watch. Especially when you've just watched Roger before him.
Oh here we go.... nrrrrr ddrrrnnrrrr drrr. (nose wipe. yuck) Nnrrrrr drrrrdrrrrr drrrrr (nose wipe. yuck)

Now if he played like that all the time ....... There's a chap playing opposite Murray who's dead spit for Inspector Montalbano. Be still my beating heart.

Just caught up after a phone call. Thank goodness Rafa won. I dont want any more Kyrios shenanigans this year. I wonder if he would act the same if he played Federer, and indeed how Roger would react.

Good morning.
We caught a bit of Kyrgios' press interview. He really is an unpleasant character. Boris Becker made excuses for him .... "he's only 25, got a lot go growing up to do". By aged 25 I had two children and had "grown up" long since. He sounds like a person who's never heard the word "no", been shown too much leniency and not taught how to respect others while expecting respect for himself. Works both ways, though, and respect has to be earned. So far, he's a long way short.
To answer your post, marion, I had the same thoughts. Now there's a mature man who may well have stood quietly and let the whole "drama queen" episode pass him by. He does, after all, have four children of his own so knows how to deal with them.

It drives me mad when people forgive someone in their 20s for acting like children by saying 'oh they are only young'. No they aren't. You should be a grown-up by then. Long before then, in fact.
In fact the way western society regards children these days is all to cock, IMO. Keep them too young, let them get away with too much, and yet expect them to take responsibility for themselves and call them feral when they don't.
I know I sound like a grumpy old git and this is way off topic but I don't get it.
Back to the tennis!

I didn't realise that Caroline Wozniaki suffered from Rheumatoid Arthritis. Poor lass. It seems Wimbledon are doing their bit for plastic. No longer are the racquets in plastic bags...Good on em.

Goodness me. Brilliant rally in the Djokovic match.
Seems to me that Djokovic, Nadal and Federer aren't winning as easily as they used to which is understandable given their ages compared to the younger players coming along. A position they themselves were in some years back.
Good to see some net play now - base line play is boring to watch.

Poor old Coco is having a bit of a nightmare on Centre, against someone I have never heard of.
I am getting pretty sick of Sue Barker raving on about Andy Murray and Serena Williams as though this match is the Second Coming.

Didn't watch the Gauff match but saw the end earlier on Breakfast. Her mother frightens me. Goodness only knows how she'll react if her daughter wins the tournament.
I felt for her opponent who was out there also having won previous matches and doing her best but was cheered each time she made a mistake. Uncomfortable for her and surely had an effect on her play.
EDIT: And now there's Sue Barker chatting to Billy Jean, going into sycophancy overdrive. For goodness sake.

Is it just me? BBC2 is showing Andy Murray in the doubles rather than Nadal v Tsonga which is on the red button. I know he is British but this seems bonkers to me.

Just watched Coco Gauff match from yesterday. She is one impressive young lady.
And I did feel a bit sorry for Hercog but, TBH, that match showed exactly why she's never got into the QFs of a slam. She hasn't got the mental toughness to do it. That double fault on match point destroyed her and it took her too long to get herself back together.
As for Coco's mother, if I'd been through what she'd been through, I'd be jumping up and down as well!
