I think Ireland are going to struggle in the next round. Unless they can get themselves sorted, a good team may well rip them to bits.

If Ireland qualify they would probably play New Zealand or South Africa.

Hmm... can't see Ireland beating either of those.

Ireland beat the All Blacks last year in Ireland, but only seven of the current All Black team were playing that day. And a lot has happened since then, the All Blacks have improved a lot since then.

And Ireland have got worse, for some reason. Not quite sure what is wrong but they aren't playing as well as they can.

Andy Farrell believes World Rugby are as keen as Ireland to see Saturday’s final Pool A clash with Samoa completed, despite the threat of Typhoon Hagibis.
World Rugby is monitoring the new typhoon that could hit Japan on Saturday and stop Ireland’s World Cup campaign in its tracks. Typhoon Hagibis has formed in the Western Pacific Ocean off the south coast of Japan, with forecasts suggesting it could hit the island of Kyushu this weekend. Ireland face Samoa in the Kyushu city of Fukuoka on Saturday, where Joe Schmidt’s men need a bonus-point victory to seal a place in the quarter-finals. But defence coach Farrell confirmed World Rugby had been in touch and that there are contingency plans in place to ensure the match goes ahead, which could even include moving venue. It has been confirmed that any games cancelled at the World Cup due to weather problems are registered as scoreless draws.

Typhoon Hagibis is currently classed as "violent" -- the JMA's highest classification, with gusts as strong as 270 kilometers per hour. It is forecast to weaken before it nears Japan but will still be "very strong". If the current forecast holds, the danger would appear to be lower for crunch games in the southwest (Ireland-Samoa on Saturday in Fukuoka and Wales-Uruguay on Sunday in Kumamoto). However, with the storm shifting east, there is now a threat for two other huge games in Yokohama. England play France in a Pool C decider in Yokohama on Saturday and Japan play Scotland on Sunday, in a match that will determine whether the hosts qualify for their first quarter-final.

Do they have the equivalent of the Duckworth-Lewis Method in rugby?

No, not that I've heard. They usually play in any kind of weather as it's considered cissy not to. But then we rarely get typhoons so.... maybe not! I would hope that the organisers have arranged some way of doing it as Japan is well known for this kind of weather so they must have anticipated a need.

If they have enough warning, they can change the location. If the game is cancelled on the day it becomes 0 - 0 and the teams get 2 points each. Don't know what they do if there is an earthquake, though. The biggest one near any of the stadiums was about a 4.3 but, for Japan, that is nothing.

England's game has been cancelled, as has the New Zealand v Italy game. Some are complaining about the latter because, if Italy beat New Zealand, they would qualify alongside New Zealand.
