He'll take that as a compliment - since he (Simon Evans) created, wrote and directed the whole thing.

Someone last night said they didn't know whether to watch this or not. I put them straight! I also recommended it last night to a friend who was complaining at the difficulty of finding anything new to watch at the moment and who had missed this in the listings. Whilst we were speaking on the phone she pulled it up on iPlayer and was going to watch it there and then. We went together to see David Tennant in Richard II so she will enjoy that reference as much as I did. (Sorry Michael, neither of us saw your Hamlet or your Henry V though! )

I didn't see Michael Sheen's Hamlet either, which was back in 2011, not that long ago but he looks a lot younger in publicity photos! Apparently it was quite quirky, set in a psychiatric institution where Hamlet is a patient, with the whole play a Freudian fantasy of his. www.theguardian.com/stage/2011/nov/09/hamlet-youngvic-reviewI did see David Tennant's 2008 Hamlet, though sadly DT himself was not there as he'd had back surgery on the day we were going. The understudy, Edward Bennett, who had been Laertes, had the unenviable task not only of replacing him but also doing the final fencing match the other way around! I loved it and am glad I went, and didn't miss out on seeing DT as it was later televised. www.theguardian.com/culture/charlottehigginsblog/2008/dec/10/hamlet-david-tennant-edward-bennettThe interplay between the two of them quoting bits of Shakespeare with complete ease during a conversation was really very funny.

I just binged the whole lot and was very funny! Although Michael's neighbour had a needed bit of darkness. As did some of the hints towards the madness caused by lockdown in extroverts.
Loved Samuel L Jackson. And Judi Dench acting as Mother was superb!

I liked the bit in one episode where they kept raising their hands to speak, lol. Did anyone notice the 4-year-old making an appearance in the background of one of the episodes (either 5 or 6 - can't remember which now, but it was towards the end of the episode)? She came down the stairs then went to (presumably) the kitchen, then went back up the stairs again afterwards, lol.

I’d like to know how the two ladies (three, counting the producer) keep their hair so immaculate. They look wonderful and the chaps look like they’ve fallen out of a skip!

I did end up giving in and watching them all last weekend as I couldn't wait for the next instalment. My favourite bit was with Judi Dench, putting the guys in their place, but my absolute fave was Adrian Lester, he was brilliant, I loved how his Brummie accent came out more and more as the episode went on and then Shakespeare, saying he was from Birmingham so would've sounded like that. And Tennant said something like "Weeell, it was up the road". Lol
I hope they make more, even after lockdown
