Did anyone else catch the first two 15-minute episodes of 'Staged' last night? This had me chuckling throughout, so much so that I viewed the other four episodes straight after on the iPlayer.
David Tennant and Michael Sheen star as two actors (well, versions of themselves) rehearsing a stage play remotely due to the pandemic. They had a good rapport, with several well-known faces popping up in a few of the other episodes. (It's a bit sweary for those with sensitive ears, btw.)

I was the same, watched the first two last night and decided I didn't want to wait a week to lose the impetus so watched the other four on iplayer straightaway. Which, like linseed, is something I very rarely do. I enjoyed it and there were some really funny moments. I liked the running joke about the titles, and how they incorporated that into the titles! It was very well put together for a lockdown show.

Yeah, I don't usually watch episodes on the iPlayer, but I didn't want to wait either. I liked that running joke, too, and - nosy person that I am! - I liked seeing the insides of the actual houses of the actors, lol! π

I enjoyed the first two - didn't realise the rest were on iPlayer, I'll watch them shortly.

I loved this too, and also watched the whole lot. Liked the running joke about the credits, and the inclusion of their mates in supporting roles. I must say, in the Tennant household they both speak at 90 miles per hour! You'd have to be quick to get a word in, which they probably do with all those children! DT said in an interview with RT that he moved around the house for filming because he was trying to find a place where it was quiet, while MS is always seen in front of that rather lovely fireplace.
Indeed, and as with the recent Isolation Stories, they do have lovely homes. These are highly successful actors of course, particularly Michael Sheen who has made a number of films.
I thought the liberal use of the F word was unnecessary β pretty sure a lot of it was scripted. I don't particularly disapprove but it did probably contribute to the late night time slot.

I loved this and laughed out loud several times. I think these two are a great double act, both professionally (Good Omens was wonderful) and personally....although, having said that I have suddenly realised that they were still acting in this! I too am enjoying seeing inside well-known people's homes throughout lockdown and social distancing. The Tennants obviously like wallpaper with large black and white patterning.

I watched the first two. I'm planning to watch two more tonight. It was pretty good, however the director is irritating.

He is, but he's meant to be. His house, or rather his sister's house, is amazing, assuming it's really her home!
Agree about the wallpaper, Vicky - very flowery and loud!

I liked their table and padded bench - reminded me of eating out at a diner/pub/restaurant (remember those days?! π). I guess they need a big eating space with all their children!

Not one bad comment. I'm with everyone else, this was brilliant. I liked the chemistry between the two of them, a bit of rivalry but mates aswell. Obviously similar to The Trip in them playing versions of themselves.
I haven't seen the others yet...I just can't be ar*ed to try and figure out what my iPlayer password is! So I'll probably just watch them on TV.
I like the little 15min format aswell. I think it works well for this. 30mins when it's two/three people speaking via Zoom might be too long, but 15minz is just right.
Hopefully they'll make more in future and turn it into a series. Maybe once lockdown is over they can have more scope with locations and such, although I wouldn t bring in more people, it works like the Trip where it focused on Bryson and Coogan, but changed the restaurant and location.

So instead of having a play house for the kids he has a play tardis! Lol, I don't know if it's big enough to go inside, I couldn't tell from the clip, but didn't look very big. I'm sure you can buy a play tent for the garden. I'd have a life size one...and then use it as a shed. If you need a shed in your garden why not make it fun!...and I bet you'd be able to fit a small branch of B&Q inside!π
