All the episodes are available on the I-Player now, so I might be binge-watching them later this week instead of waiting to record them all first. 🙂

Have seen the first episode. Very funny, and I agree Michael Palin playing against type was great. I'm glad to see they haven't fiddled with the formula – was a bit concerned about the opening but all was well!

That worried me too  very relieved when it settled down... TV critics, inevitably, declaring it past its time, but I don't agree. I know it isn't supposed to be a sequel but it does help to have seen the first series... I don't suppose though that we will find out anything more about Michael's neighbour and her odd taste in library books |

I've watched all of them today and the focus has changed but that makes sense seeing as the situation socially had changed a lot from the first one. For me, it wasn't as funny but it was as interesting. It does go quite dark at one point. But there's some really funny scenes in the middle of it.

Yes, I feel the same. I've just watched the link above and it was funny in places but I didn't much care for all the effing and blinding. Does that make me a prude or a hypocrite, I wonder, as I'm quite capable of strong language myself? There is a time and a place though. If there is a third series I will watch, but without that sense of anticipation as it's no longer innovative nor, as they pointed out, even necessary now.
