Ah. I misremember when it was then. I just remember feeling really uncomfortable watching it and wasn't surprised to see he'd gone by the next one. I think you’re remembering correctly for the October edition. Paul Merton especially wasn’t being funny with some of his comments even making a reference to “resigning for the good of the show” or words very close to that. In the Parkinson interview he made clear that he didn’t like / get on with Deayton, even before all this happened.

Didn't Paul have a T-Shirt printed with the tabloid headline which he revealed towards the end of the recording? Yes, precisely. That was after the first revelations. Ian Hislop had a copy of the paper and would pull it out every so often and refer to a particular part. This gave Deayton a feeling that Paul was more on his side but then revealed the t-shirt as you say. But that time it was very much let’s just make fun of this and move on.

Some of the guest hosts have been brilliant. Martin Clunes, David Tennant and Damien Lewis have all been good. William Shatner will go down in history - didn't he say some town in England was "laced with prostitutes"? I like Jo Brand although I know she is splits opinion and Victoria Coren Mitchell is always fun. Bruce Forsyth was a star - Play Your Iraqi Cards Right - poor Ian had no idea of the rules. I quite like the interchanging hosts.

I do too, though some are undoubtedly better at it than others. Though you might say Boris's star turn went some way to popularising him ... a case of being careful what you wish for!

I've just watched the latest offering. I thought Jack Dee was very funny. I've warmed to his comedy style in recent years. David Tennant did a surprisingly good impression of Pam Ayres. That's it, really. The rest was a bit flat.

I did like Nigel Farage as a Sylvanian Family. But the Pam Ayres impression was the only bit that really made me laugh.

I found it a bit flat too. David Tennant's been better. Didn't recognise Jack Dee at first under all that hair!
I think it's been consistently poorer without a live studio audience. Hopefully they'll be able to have one again before too long.

I enjoyed it! I do feel the first episode of any new series takes a while to hit its stride but I LOL-ed at
bees finding bombs right handed dogs Spending public money the chicken slapping machine (did I dream that?) The jokes about Keir Starmer. Lobby-gate Rishi likes coke (the drink) Jack and his vaccination story Barber-shop - Hello! Hello! Hello! Hello! - Paul did not join in as they were a quartet. And Pam Ayres.

Good episode with Victoria Coren Mitchell in the chair.
I shall be "parking my weasels" from now on.

Another enjoyable episode although it is unfortunate that it was recorded before some of the election results were known.
I am a little concerned about comedian Zoe Lyons wearing a woolly hat and hope it is a quirky fashion choice and not as a result of cancer treatment and the wish to hide hair loss...

I am a little concerned about comedian Zoe Lyons wearing a woolly hat and hope it is a quirky fashion choice and not as a result of cancer treatment and the wish to hide hair loss... I thought the same, pleased to know it was not as bad as I feared, though obviously unpleasant if it’s happening to you... So according to that article, some people actually phoned to complain about her appearance?? Because she was wearing a hat??

I sometimes think someone has recruited an underground group of professional BBC complainers, they seem to get vexed about anything.
Why would you take the time to log on and complain because a woman is wearing a wooly hat.

I felt a bit shallow for raising it but I was concerned for her health and was thinking the worst.
She has spoken out about alopecia in the past, so good on her. A nasty condition which causes anxiety - which in turn makes it worse.
LOL at the on going joke this series about Ian's quest for drink!
Once again I am looking forward to the longer edition.

You've no reason to feel shallow. You only expressed concern. You didn't complain to the BBC about a wonan in a hat.
