We have just watched it after recording it on Monday. Strange to see "Jones" from Midsomer Murders as a nasty piece of work - swearing too! What would Tom Barnaby say?

What an unprepossessing lead this Marcella is! If I were Becky I'd have grassed her up! You cant go around knocking seven bells out of people and expect them to stay silent whilst you do nothing about your condition IMHO.

In the first series I don't think we viewers knew any better than her what happened during those periods she couldn't remember. We followed her efforts to discover what she did, and whether her husband was somehow involved in the crime, which added an extra level of interest. Just watching her go into meltdown isn't as entertaining, and coupled with the highly unpleasant crime theme means that so far I'm not enjoying this second series quite as much. Sticking with it though.

We are plodding on with this but find there are too many strings to the story to fully comprehend the implications of some of them.

Yes, I agree the've thrown too many threads into it, and it's quite hard to remember each week who some of the characters are exactly and how they fit in. In some cases I've been completely stumped and had to resort to reading episode reviews to find out. Plus Marcella can be unbelievably clever at working things out - for example, how on earth is she suspicious that the Keith Allen character was responsible for his old friend's death with as far as I can remember absolutely no evidence to suggest it?
I'll see it out now, but this is a disappointment after series 1.

Who was the woman who turned up to see the nurse communicating with the neuro patient? Was it Marcella's husband's new partner?
I rather hope this series ends with Marcella being sacked from the police for unprofessional conduct! I think she is dreadful. And so chippy towards her colleagues I'm surprised people dont ask to be transferred!
I also cant see where the two women who are unable to afford more IVF fit in. Seven cycles, thats a lot.

I've binge-watched all the episodes now over the last few days and am looking forward to watching tonight's episode (will actually watch it tonight too, so I won't have to cover my ears if they discuss it in the office tomorrow 😂). This series has definitely gripped me a lot more than the last one did.

Goodness me. I needed to watch something silly (like Plebs) after that just to get calmed down and ready for bed

SPOILER ALERT. MENTIONS ENDING!
I was hoping she would just get dismissed for cutting a child's neck. I'm sure that isn't in police regulations even if you are very stressed. It seemed to me that a number of plot strands just faded away. What did Keith Allen have to do with it? Or the IVF couple?
I couldn't quite see what was going on with the baby. Did she accidentally smother her?
The ending reminded me of The Killing where our heroine gets away with it and then goes underground to become an Avenger. Which I found the weakest part of the whole, marvellous series.
I didn't think much to this ending. Why did she have to cut all her hair off? Why did she disfigure herself with those scissors? How did that chap find her? Why would he want her???
Having said all that, I did watch most of the ending through my fingers!!!!

Yes, I was thinking all that too. I'm afraid I didn't find it marvellous, much of it too OTT and unbelievable. Some explanations of the ending, from creator Hans Rosenfeldt, are here (*spoiler warning* - to anyone who hasn't watched the finale, don't follow this link): www.radiotimes.com/news/tv/2018-04-09/7-unanswered-questions-about-marcellas-series-finale-explained-by-the-shows-writer/The very end contained a couple of elements from series 1 that I'd completely forgotten after 2 years. It seemed to be setting up for a third series, which I think is likely since the show seems to go down well abroad as well as here, and also as Anna Friel reportedly said that she originally had to sign up for three series. If so I might well prefer it to this one, for several reasons. Her memory fugues might have finally gone away now that apparently their cause has been dug out, her new undercover role could be a welcome change allowing her to get away with things more acceptably, and her old boss Laura (played by Nina Sosanya in S1) might be back.

On the whole I enjoyed (if that's the word) it. I reckon there will be a new series with Marcella undercover. I wish they had told us the outcome of the copper she walloped...or did I miss that.

No, they didn't say what happened to Rav, but the actor who plays him liked my tweet when I said he didn't deserve that, lol.
