I was always a fan of the golden goal. A goal in play and a reason to fight for it. Instead of sending 19 year olds that have played 20 minutes up for a penalty.
Oh well, no doubt Rufus will be happy, he seemed to want it anyway, with his bet and all.

You know what? As disappointed as I am, I'm really proud of this team. And I'm proud of Saka for stepping up in the face of all that pressure. I do wish he hadn't as he didn't play that well during the game. His usually accurate passing and his pace seemed to be lacking. But it is what is and fair play to him for his courage. Fair play to all of them. And now this young team knows what it is to be in a major final. So next year, it won't be so nerve-racking. Possibly.  |

George made me laugh during the penalties. He couldn't understand why I was so happy one minute and so sad the next. We were both lying on my bed and he climbed up onto my chest and stared right into my eyes to show he loved me. Bless him!
