One of the most enjoyable, heart rending and ultimately uplifting series is back with 9 new episodes.
The witty, warm and sometimes waspish Paul is back at Battersea showing us darling dogs which are looking for new homes.
I am constantly amazed by the pedigree animals - worth hundreds of pounds - that find themselves homeless. Wrong breed chosen perhaps, owner moving abroad etc. There was even a Hungarian Pulley (the one with the dreadlocks) looking for a home this week.
But there is someone for everyone - and delightful families, kindly dog wardens and patient couples roll up to take on the various strays.
Just wish the episodes were 1 hour long - 30 minutes just doesn't do justice to this TV gem.

I didn't realise that was a new series.

Yes - at least, new to viewers in Scotland. I suppose it might have been on before in the rest of the UK whilst we endured - sorry enjoyed - a 'local' programme like "Up The Braes With Lorraine Kelly and Wee Jimmy Krankie"

Really enjoy this programme. It's got warmth and humour and love, qualities in rather short supply on TV these days.

Wonder if he'll adopt any this series. I loved his remarks when making the dog food ice lollies - about the state of the fridge.
"It's like my freezer. If you want the ice cream, it's under the rats!". Then he paused and said, "I better explain, I've got some owls, and the rats are for them".
So it looks like he has already added to his ever growing brood of misshapen livestock!

I think they are, Miranda. Some very exalted breeds in Battersea though, so being an aristo doesn't seem to stop you winding up there if the cards fall badly for you.
Would like to have someone like Paul doing a programme on the feline inhabitants of Battersea. There are lots of celebrity cat people I'm sure.

Joanna Lumley would be ideal for a feline based programme!
Great latest episode but was amused that no one commented on the...er....bulk of depressed Jack Russell Jacko. His original owners were an old couple so he probably did not get as much exercise as he needed, but he was certainly a bit of a barrel. GREAT to see him - and the little Saluki off to good new homes though. The nicest people seem to turn up to give these 'pre loved' pets a second chance.
I am sure Blake will be snapped up in no time, once his treatment is finished. Did they say they would NEVER remove the cataracts or are they waiting, as they do with humans, until they are 'ripe'?
