I’ve watched the new presenter twice now and I’m afraid I don’t rate her at all. She’s very hesitant, and doesn’t seem to know much about tennis which I would have expected to be the key skill! Joanna Konta has been quite good, and very eloquent, in commentary and interview, so maybe she could be a contender? I like Annabelle Croft but doubt she would get the offer.

I see the ever delightful Kyrgios has been fined around £8,000 for his behaviour when playing Paul Jubb. Apparently he was angry yesterday because someone coughed. I completely agree the audience should be quiet but have often thought over the years that their need for total silence is odd. I know they have to concentrate but they can’t have played in total silence when coming up through the ranks, can they?

Oh well done, Heather! First time in a fourth round at a Slam. She seems to have been on every day so far, what with over-runs. She must fancy a day off. Mind you there is no rest day on middle Sunday this year, so that will be novel.

BBC decided we needed to see Nick Kyrgios against Stefano Tsitsipas because Kyrgios was throwing tantrums, Tsitsipas had hit the ball into the crowd which is meant to be an elimination but the umpire didn’t agree so Kyrgios keeps giving the whole court verbals. This might be theatre but it isn’t sportsmanship and I find bullying distasteful. I only saw a little of it but when Kyrgios sat in his chair shouting at the world it looked like a 2 year old being sent to the naughty step.
Give me a Nadal straight sets win anyday
Turned the TV off when the match was suspended to close the roof

He is repellent. I hope the fine is mahoosive. Of course our drinks were moved to Saturday night so I didn’t hear any of this until this morning. Isn’t Tsitsipas the one they all complain about for taking strategic and extremely long pee breaks? I do not understand why the crowds seem to love Kyrgios so much, boo him I say!
