It's on BBC2 at the moment (8.15 pm).
Re Pink Hair Gate.
Must be something to do with the studio lighting for Gabby Logan has the same shade. Or she and Clare have either shared a box of tint or gone to a very poor hair salon.

Is athletics included? I thought they recently had their Euros?

They had the World Championships last month. Europeans are part of this combined event.

The athletics main coverage seems to be in the late evening. Which is lucky because if they were in the afternoon, I doubt we would see much of anything else. I believe Claire has been handing over to Gaby for the athletics at 7.00 on BBC2.

So that’s Claire, Gaby, Becky and Tonya all sharing the box colour for a laugh or a lighting quirk. Perhaps the lighting person doesn’t like yellow blondes, 😄😄. Silver for us in the 3m synchro! 👍

Gold for Andrea in the 10m final! Hurrah!!! All on the last dive so very exciting.
Tonya does rather spout a lot of platitudes doesn’t she? Or is that unfair?

I think commentators hate a silence - so they ramble.
The climbing (boulder and line) is amazing.

Watching some track cycling and you are right about the track, Marion. It is more of a bowl than an oval.

Jeannette was a sprinter, wasn't she? Good to have a presenter who has actually done it.

Watching some track cycling and you are right about the track, Marion. It is more of a bowl than an oval. Exactly. I think I heard that the Dutch have gone home early because they think it is rubbish. Its the men’s gymnastic qualification and all round competition today. I shan’t bother to watch it after the crap coverage of the women’s with those endless shots of gymnasts awaiting scores. I mean if Matt Baker mentions it, you know it’s bad.

Really tough on the Brit long jumper celebrating winning a silver medal only for the jump to be deemed void two hours later after an appeal by the French. So no medal. Relegated down to fifth.

The 5 Live commentator said "someone grassed him up" - but did not repeat this phrase in later bulletins.
Unfortunate for the athlete that it was not corrected earlier, but childish reporting. Rules are rules.

It's strange though because the technology didn't pick it up. Correct result all the same.
Watching the cycling, the one where the last rider is eliminated. I thought, what a great idea for the distance races. Having to lap one runner might not be too hard, except you don't know if they're going to stay where they are or move to the side.
If there are two runners coming up to lap one runner, one of them has to drop behind to go past, leaving no opportunity on that straight to try and pass the leader.
Even worse when there's a bunch of 4 or 5 you have to go past. It could end up a bit like the hokey cokey as you dodge them all.
Currently it's up to the runner being lapped to decide whether to move out of the way. If they're not going to eliminate them maybe they could introduce an official whose job it is to move the slower runners out into the third lane.
Mind you it would be easier to introduce a tougher qualifying time.
I also really didn't like the idea of seeding runners and allowing them to go straight to the semis in the sprint races. Especially when the races were close together, it didn't allow much time for recovery. Again introduce a qualifying time.
It was naff too that runners from earlier heats had to sit and watch all the other races until qualifying was confirmed.
