Quite surprised no one has mentioned this, it’s supposed to be a huge topic on the various forms of social media
I kept away once I realised it wasn’t a drama series, but another kind of reality show, then I saw a few minutes while I was flicking through channels and somehow got drawn in.
A lot of it is very silly, many of the participants are people you’d probably cross the road to avoid, but it is intriguing in a way. One episode was a graphic example of how herd mentality takes over so quickly sometimes even amongst people who thought they had a strong opinion
And the scenery is spectacular…. Filmed in a castle north of Inverness I believe
Finishes this Thursday, I’m afraid I have to stick with it and find out who wins the money!

I decided not to watch as I didn’t feel like watching another reality show that took up several consecutive nights viewing. Also didn’t feel like watching another load of people being nasty to each other.
I will however read this thread with interest, as I suspect it will be on again next year!

Quite likely I would think Claudia Winkleman is having the time of her life as presenter I really don’t like reality shows, which is why I’m surprised I got drawn in by this one

Well, I’m completely hooked. I saw Claudia being interviewed about it (One Show I think) and I knew I couldn’t resist. Had me hooked from the outset.
Yes, you are completely right about herd mentality, but I have to say, the traitors are playing a very good game, especially when they turned on one of their own!

Yes, I know what you mean about the usual reality shows (like Love Island) but I don’t watch those. I suppose it was the way Claudia sold it. She initially wanted nothing to do with it, but I think it was also because it was on prime time BBC1!

I don't like manipulative shows so I didn't watch it.

The consecutive nights thing is annoying though it was somewhat saved, this week, by football. I really don't like "reality" shows at all but this is insanely brilliant and, by and large, the participants aren't being nasty to each other as they can't really afford to be. Part of the process is to accrue money for the final prize (up to £120k) and to do so they have to work as a team (or small teams), and they are genuinely quite good at it. Sure they have their moments when it comes to determining who to eliminate, but for the most part it is reasoned discussion and impassioned defence. They mostly seem to genuinely like each other (they had clearly spent time together before the "on screen" action started), which makes the eliminations far harder than they might be if the situation was more angry. Any subsequent series will have to be tweaked because it won't work with the non-traitors, going in, having knowledge of how the traitors are handled.

Yesterday evening, I started binge-watching the first few episodes I'd recorded and it was a bit addictive with the cliffhanger endings. I ended up watching more episodes than I'd planned. 😂 In the end I stopped halfway through the fifth episode, when they were leaving the church, so I could continue tonight, otherwise another cliffhanger ending would've enticed me to watch the next episode and I didn't want to stay up till the early hours! 😂
I'm up to about episode 8 now, I think, but I've only watched about the first 10 minutes before stopping for the night (just wanted to see who got killed off in the night - will catch up with some more episodes tomorrow).
My mouth waters when we see the lovely spread the Faithfuls and Traitors have for their breakfast!

My mouth waters when we see the lovely spread the Faithfuls and Traitors have for their breakfast! Got to be honest, I thought by now, there'd be a Daily Mail front page story proclaiming "BBC WASTES GAZILLIONS IN LICENCE PAYERS' MONEY ON VAST BREAKFAST FOR SNOWFLAKE WOKERATI" Followed up on page 17 with "The Traitors' Amanda looking hot in shorts"

Final tomorrow, I think I know who will win… but who knows what other twists will come??! Not happy about the female survivors, disappointed to have lost my favourite One of the women is going to be very embarrassed when she finds out how much of a mistake she’s made… consistently

Well, that final was edge-of-the-seat, twisty-turny entertainment! Cryptic guns a-blazing at the round table!! The theatrics of the fire pit pouches!! (Being kind of vague for those still yet to watch it, lol!)
I think even Claudia looked shocked at the round table that she was being asked to speed up the vote. 😂
I might just have to watch it all again (the entire series). 😄

I really should be going to bed now - I've had far too many late nights this week either catching up on episodes or reading all the comments in the Digital Spy thread about it (137+ pages!!).
I'm looking forward to reading sleepyp's comments about the final in the morning. 🙂
