Congratulations to Spain, Euros & Wimbledon in the same day.
I hope the media don’t start abusing the English players

I hope certain brain dead elements amongst the England fans do not cause trouble....
It was a good match with a great second half, but Spain have been the best team throughout the tournament.
I think Gareth Southgate will now walk away. Don't blame him. He has got the team further than any manager since 1966 - yet the fans and more annoyingly the MEDIA have had it in for him for ages.

This is what I hate about the media, the abuse of players coaches etc is just wrong. A Scottish championship player (2nd division) retired recently and admitted he was relieved as he no longer had to worry about letting his fans down, leading to his children being bullied & vulgar threats to his wife. If that’s the treatment of 2nd tier players the abuse the top tier take must be horrendous.
Well done on getting to the final.

I think one of the pundits, might have been Thierry Henri, they had so many it began to blur. Anyway whoever it was said that if you were a singer or a band and every single you released in 10 years got into the top 5, you'd be a megastar and England had been in the top 5 for 10 years and that is a very successful team.
However, the whole tournament has been lacklustre.
Do you think that is because they have so many teams now that they have depleted the quality of the qualifying rounds. No offense to those countries but they were fillers. When there were less teams, every game was a big game and you couldn't slowly build through the tournament, you had to go for it from the start because everyone was on top and those unlikely countries got there because they were full of international players and hit the timing perfectly for a once in a generation attempt.

I totally agree, too many teams
Takes far too long
It was much more exciting in the old format imo

I don't know, I think some of the lesser teams had the most entertaining games. I really enjoyed watching Turkey and Georgia. But France put me to sleep. They also got a whole heap of stick from their media for being boring and un-French. No style, no flare, and a total waste of Mbape.

There are 24 teams, 6 groups of 4. It depends on what you want. UEFA want revenue. Football fans want entertainment and a decent standard of games. The lesser teams can be entertaining when they put up a fight. Scotland V Germany was dire because Germany took it seriously and Scotland didn’t turn up.
On the other hand there’s lots of memes going round twitter etc about how Scotland had beaten Spain to get to the Euros. The Scottish fans I know turned up for the party, they’d have liked some decent football but didn’t really expect the team to win. In contrast the England fans were leaving grounds upset cos the play was boring.
The second half of the England Spain match was more interesting but not sure where the next Euro’s are being held.

We watched the final in an Irish bar in Turin. I think the majority of people in the bar (Italian) wanted England to win. I thought from the beginning that Spain would win but was pleased at England's performance in the final - such an improvement on their first game

I know we lost, but at least the conclusion of the game was reached in 90 minutes (though we might have taken it on penalties, given that we've improved in that direction - but that never really feels like a truly satisfying win)
Oh well, football's not coming home this time round...but there's always the World Cup 2026 and the hopes and dreams will start again

The football came home two years ago. The Lionesses are current Euro champions.
