Bronze in the cycling for Emma Finucane, her third medal.
I love our weightlifter. She just looks so kind and gentle.
That Colombian weightlifter… she was chatting so much it felt like she should be opening a rock concert or comedy gig, not a weightlifting session, 😂😂

Triple crash in the men’s kierin took out half the field, including our guy. At least it wasn’t a Dutchman who knocked our guy out.
Apparently we have done better than Tokyo, but we have gone down to 7th now, below the Dutch. I don’t know if there are any more still to go.

Great weightlifting final. Got a bronze. The GB lady, Emily Campbell, gave a wonderful interview - in fact all the weightlifting women seemed to having a great time. Loved the hairstyles! I hope some make up/fashion brands offer Emily a contract. Her smile is so infectious.

Emily gives talks at schools telling children that there is a sport for them whatever their shape and size. She's very good.
The one I saw she had lots of activities for the children and lists of sports that needed short people, tall people, long legs, power etc.
The children were loving it. There was a little boy who was long sighted and she was sitting talking to him about archery and shooting or just running because everyone can run if they want to.

She is exactly the sort of ambassador that sport needs!
Looking forward to the madness of the closing ceremony.

Not keen on the pop singers. Also the sound is echoing.

Very aware of the flashing lights - the kind that can trigger seizures...
Death playing a guitar solo will take some beating!

The alien's outfit was amazing. It went on a bit, so much so that we didn't see the hand over of the flag to the LA people!

It was about 2 hours too long. Everyone just wanted a party and I think 30 minutes for the concept piece, 30 minutes for the speeches and then a party was all anyone wanted. Apparently lots of the athletes had gone home long before the hand over bit and once everyone realised that The Red Hot Chili Peppers and Billie Eilish weren't playing live they started to leave. Journalists said that some of the athletes were just lying on the ground waiting to get the call from their team that they could leave.
I really hope that people start to get the message that 2 hours is long enough for an opening/closing ceremony.

Yes I thought it was way too long as well, got distracted several times with looking at the iPad and just listening. Definitely 2 hours too long

I'm watching it now and boy is it dragging! I've got to the lifting of the rings and they could have cut this in half by missing out all the dancing about. Should have asked Danny Boyle!

Lots of negative comments on social media. Mainly because The Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Billy Eilish were in LA, not Paris!
