I thought that he was planning to retire after the Olympics. But, if he can't go this time, he'll be 31 if he goes to Milan in 2026.

Yeah.... if his body is already finding it harder to heal it's worth giving it up now. It would be a shame for him to compete and not do well.

Here is coach Brian Orser on the injury:
It seems that he was in a similar situation, injured, three months before the last Olympics.

I remember him. Very very good, and did some amazing spins, some of which you only used to see women do. He once popped up in the Russian entry for Eurovision, and yes, skating not singing!

It’s the World Championships March 24-26 with a gala on the 27th. I spotted a reference in the RT and have googled the BBC coverage below, iPlayer or red button. Chen and Hanyu are out through injury; Russia and Belarus have been banned (👍).
Thursday 24, Pairs Free, 5-9pm. Friday 25, women’s Free, 5-9pm. Saturday 26, Men’s Free, 10am-2pm. Saturday 26, Ice Dance Free, 5-9pm. Highlights Sunday 27, 2-4pm.

Wow. All the years I have watched skating and I have never seen someone stretchered off the ice. Hopefully she is OK.
I enjoyed the winning performance, but otherwise felt the competition was quite weak (not that I missed the Russians) and the Japanese overmarked considering the number of errors they made. Nice to see a British pair with our woman in her retirement year AT THE AGE OF 42! The Ukrainians retired after the short programme which wasn’t shown but they said it was a lovely programme.

I'm just about to watch the Ukranian short programme. Lovely support from the crowd.

Firstly, the fact that they are there at all is a testament to their dedication and strength. And going on first!
But purely as a skating performance, I didn't love it. Obviously, they aren't world class standard but out of the two, she is better than him. He's a little clumsy in his moves, for me. Then again, i didn't like the music, which never helps.
The French couple are being very French. Which is understandable, given where they are!

Nice to see the German pair back to full strength. I like their routine.
Marion, why aren't the Chinese competing?
