Guess they expect people to record this to view at their convenience, Bidie. Reminded me of one of the Agatha Christie's where everyone dunnit.

Lovely to see Harry is still in it and the scenery's to die for, (excuse the pun) the only thing that didn't ring true was the CCTV picking up the murdered man's brother in his disguise but apparently didn't pick up any of the others.

Do bars/clubs still stock promotional matchbooks? This is the second programme I've watched recently where one featured and helped point to where someone had been. Admittedly, the other programme was The Halcyon (I lasted two episodes, but still didn't warm to any of the characters), so people would be allowed to smoke inside back when it was set. I don't think I've ever seen a matchbook in real life (never smoked), so I'm just wondering how common they are these days.

Perhaps smoking laws are not so draconian on Saint Marie?
Having said that, I can't remember seeing any character smoke, but I might be wrong.

IME experience of living and working in a hot country, hardly anyone drinks inside anyway. Most people are out on the terrace or pavement.

I can tell you that Netz, please meet me at the cliff top at ten past, and if you could wait right at the edge please, with your handbag on the ground next to you. Otherwise my plan won't work.
Try and smash your watch when you land if you wouldn't mind and everything will work out fine, as long as I don't forget how to delete an audio file.

Ah.... it wasn't just me that spotted that, then......

At least they gave an explanation (however unlikely) regarding the watch/time of death. The old chestnut of a watch/clock stopping when someone died in films, etc, often had me scratching my head as to how that was supposed to have happened.

My love of Christie means I roll my eyes when anyone does that. But it wasn't the watch that made me tut, it was the non-deletion of the audio file. I mean.... really? How stupid does a person need to be not to delete it?

P.S. Just noticed your avatar, Miranda. Aw, that's lovely (sad/poignant, too). 😞

I know. Someone put it on Twitter on the day she died and I just filled up when I saw it. So I borrowed as a tribute to her.

No Harry this week! Perhaps he was still swooning after having his chin tickled by Martha.
How on earth did Humphrey form the opinion that Florence is a brilliant detective? Even if he was only trying to make her feel better. Very little detection these days as far as I can see. That and the Shepherd's Pie made me laugh – not sure that's the kind of food you'd want in baking temperatures!

Always an enjoyable show despite the occasional plot hole. And in a programme that does not set its self up as a serious drama (Silent Witness for example) the minor errors hardly matter.
I actually thought that the literary sisters had swapped places so the one who could cope with the resulting publicity dealt with it while the true author led a sheltered life.
The broken watch annoyed me too. Who remembers Evil Under the Sun? A watch was conveniently changed to give someone an alibi in that Christie classic.

I missed Harry too.
I was rather surprised the successful sister didn't say that she may not have come up with the original manuscript/poem, but that was very much a rough draft/early version and she had polished it so that it was publishable. I would have said that at least! And then been acknowledged as a co author rather than a total fraud.
