I would have thought by now they would have established an exchange programme so a Ste. Marie detective could qualify as an Inspector in the UK then come back to run the team. Not that I am advocating that for the drama! After all I doubt a local DI would live with Harry.

They did explain it at one point. The French owned it but it came under British control because of a treaty. Can't remember the details now.

I was actually quite impressed at the method this week. At least it was vaguely plausible and pretty clever!

I've been catching up and reached the episode where Neville's ex-girlfriend turns up having flown halfway round the world to say that she is his blog correspondent, then seems perfectly reconciled to the 'spark' not being there. What with that and the complex and baffling plot to bump off the victim of the week, these stories are increasingly ludicrous. Then Florence reappeared having had the shortest witness protection in the world. Despite that Neville still insists he's going travelling to search for love, when his true love is actually there!
I haven't seen the next episode yet so don't know if he actually goes, or goes and comes back, or what. But goodness me, this series is too daft for words.

Last episode on Sunday, I do agree it’s gone off the boil. I watch it but I’m not excited to see what happens if you know what I mean.

I would rather watch a bad episode of this, than the rest of the rubbish the channels churn out.

Christmas special officially announced.
Presumably, that is when we get introduced to the new DI.

So they've both left the show?

They must have, it didn't say but neither would have enough to retire, so back to Manchester after a bit of travelling.
Or perhaps back to Ste Marie for the next season.

The BBC has revealed the replacement for the lead detective in Death in Paradise following the emotional departure of actor Ralf Little at the close of series 14.
The broadcaster announced today (2nd May) that EastEnders and Shetland star Don Gilet will be taking over the role and arriving as the new British detective inspector on the fictional island of Saint Marie.
Gilet is best known for playing Lucas Johnson in the long-running soap, as well as Jacob Harris in Sherwood and John Howell in Shetland.

Be interesting to see how they handle the detective being black. Should be a different vibe.

A great choice. He's so good in all he's done.

I have just looked him up, as I haven't watched EE since the Ark made its maiden voyage! He's very pretty!
