Good to have it back and, so far, I don't feel that it's lost any of its magic without Cassie. It still has the hallmark seemingly disparate strands of story line that will have to be knitted together as the weeks go on until they all connect. I do love a complicated plot! Something to look forward to on the coming Monday evenings. 👍

Not mad keen on Cassie's replacement yet...Hopefully, she will grow on me.

Not keen on her either, but I guess they'll make us grow to like her and I feel Sunny will grow to like her too. What's going on in her private life is horrible, so I feel sorry for her already.

Not mad keen on Cassie's replacement yet...Hopefully, she will grow on me. I don't think we are meant to like her at this stage. I certainly didn't although I did feel sorry for her when her husband dropped his bombshell on her first day in her new job. It will be interesting to see how she becomes part of the team.

I’m intrigued by the mystery, as usual. Sunny obviously hasn’t got over Cassie’s death and the new DCI has had a load of crap dumped on her on her first day. I think they will gel by the end of the series. I recognised Hayley Mills as the sick old gentleman’s wife, but I only realised it was Kate Robbins playing the newbie detective’s mum when I read a review this morning. I’m eagerly anticipating where this will go. We’ve got alcoholism and drug abuse, wealth and poverty and the killer could be anyone. This is right up my street.

Excellent as ever, but I don’t like the new woman either! I wish Sunny had taken the job.

Excellent as ever, but I don’t like the new woman either! I wish Sunny had taken the job. I cheered his put down of her when he said he had been asked multiple times to take the job. I do like Sunny.

Mmm. I wonder if it was true? Sunny is very good at the job he does, not sure he'd make a good DCI. Now we will never know!
I hope we don't see too much of Andrew Lancel (Jessie's husband) who has to be one of the most wooden actors I've seen. He was in the Bill for a long time, I don't think I've seen him elsewhere. Not helped here by playing a total sh*t!
I thought we generally found out who the victim was by the end of the first episode? Perhaps I'm remembering wrongly. And of course they did have more scene-setting to do than usual. I'm loving the mix of new characters and looking forward to all the speculation about how the different story threads will come together.

Newspaper reviewer said she thought Sunny’s attitude was very unprofessional and that he should have been made to take leave. For once, I agree with her. He was very annoying
Especially the line about how they had begged him to take the job

I immediately recognised Hayley Mills, but was surprised to see her. Pleasantly surprised (Whistle Down the Wind one of my favourite fillums ever). And Kate Robbins! Thank you, Hoodylover, for confirming my suspicions.
A great start, I feel. A lot of characters to keep in my head. I know it'll sort of click into place soon-ish.

I don't remember watching the earlier series of Unforgotten. I enjoyed it and think the new DCI will be accepted eventually. The actress played a werewolf in Being Human!

I knew this was a modern murder once the pathologist mentioned the C-Section scar. You didn't get a bikini line teen weeny scar in the 40s. You would have been able to see the scar a a mile off. Usually right up the middle and large.

I really didn't like how this went. I am out, which is a shame, because I normally like this kind of thing.

Ths is bingeable but I've decided to watch it as broadcast so I can join in the conversation.
I think we do know who it's likely to be - the owner of the debit card. And I agree with Beverley about the scar. Up until the 80s, I think, women were cut from diaphragm to pelvis.
I think it may well true about Sunny turning down the job. He was settled in place before Cassie died. And possibly he's not in the right frame of mind to take on the extra responsibility. Having three DIs in a short space of time must be really unsettling as well. And then being told that he can't do the only thing he has left from the Before Times, it's no surprise he wants to resign.

Decidedly tedious tonight… how many more times are we going to see her on the phone leaving messages for her husband instead of doing some work, and not having a clue what’s going on when one of her team finally gets her attention?
As one of them said, Why does she bother turning up?
I think I’m asking myself that!
