Ah, I don't remember him but I only began watching SW a few series back so he may have been before my time. I remember Neil Stuke, the actor playing him, from Silk where he was a dodgy barrister and Doctor Foster where he played the father of the girl the doctor's husband went off with.

I had guessed by the end of ep 1 who did it, but I’m still a bit clueless as to how much was intentional. Also, what happened to the murder weapon?

I still think there was something 'shonky' about that DCI.
Nice ending for Nikki though. I wonder why they didn't screen this episode closer to Christmas though.

I lost it completely last night as to who did what....oh well the end of the ludicrous Silent Witless for another year!! Oh, I am so glad I'm not the only one who literally " lost the plot" last night! Was it supposed to be the effects of the tablets the younger daughter was taking that made her shoot everyone? I understood why she shot her sister and the undercover policeman and she shot her grandfather because she said her was laughing at her and her father: why was he laughing? And why did she shoot her father, the au pair and her horse in that case? I just lost track of the sequence of events, especially after the clever, clever ghostly film effects that went with the DCI's explanation of the mother's confession. Who had shot who in the end? I wondered why it wasn't shown at Christmas. It did seem a bit odd to have it in February. Do you think Nikki will move permanently to America, either bringing the whole thing to an end or introducing another lead character?

I guessed whodunnit and I hope the mother gets done for something after wasting police time like that. Let the girl take responsibility FGS! I think the grandfather just laughed at her cos he was a nasty drunk. Even so, nobody deserved to be murdered for the perceived slights. I suppose after you've shot the first one or two you have to finish off the rest! And yes, I thought it was supposed to be down to the medication she was taking (which no one had forced on her that I could tell).
I rather liked the walking through the reconstruction bit. They do that on another show, either Unforgettable or Professor T I think, or indeed both.
Was the younger detective inspector played by Sid from Father Brown?

Well that was a disappointing opener to the 2019 series!
Nobody in a hoody followed Nikki through a subway. She was hardly in it. I suspect Ms Fox was probably making a film or appearing in the West End while this ep was being made!

The blond who went down to use the public lavatory must have been desperate - especially finding the Ladies out of order and having to use the Gents. I lost it a bit there so who found the dead chap? Also someone must have moved his body because it was outside the cubicle when SOCO arrived but blood was seeping into her cubicle under the dividing wall when he met his demise.

I don't think you did actually miss anything. We went straight from blood flowing from one cubicle into the one next door to the scene as you describe it with the body laid outside the cubicle and ( I think) Nikki taking photos inside it.

I thought the way the lone woman went into that public loo was one of the most incongruous things in the episode! Who would do that? It all but had a sign saying Ladies, Gents, Serial Killers. I know loos are few and far between these days but there are stations, bars, cafes. Even a convenience situated above ground would be preferable.

I thought that too marion. No matter how desperate I was, my sense of survival wouldn't let me go somewhere like that....and who would even contemplate using the gents?

That was a bit all over the place, wasn’t it?
The killer following the witness into the men’s loo - irrelevant. The man stealing the Russian doll - irrelevant. 600 possible sites for the grain location magically becomes one. Evie kept alive by the killer...why?

And there are only about 4 people working in the Lyell Centre - no wonder they can’t afford to lose work!
