Shudders indeed. I live in Belgium where a care home is affordable and strictly regulated by law. We have state care homes, the ones who can not / do not make a profit, mostly Catholic ones, previously run by nuns or brothers/fathers (De Broeders van Liefde) and the profit making ones. The latter, except, the very expensive ones, are not so good as the 2 first kinds.

Here you have to hope you die before you need one because they’re very expensive, or the family has to sell your house to pay.

Liz, here it is on average over 50/60€ per day in a care home. As most people have a pension of 1100 or 1300/1400 € per month if they worked -130€ each elderly person in a care home, gets from the state, they all have to use their savings or the money from selling their house. Here that is considered: normal.

Well I don't have family to bother with so I'm hoping I can cope here in my retirement flat, comfortable and fairly up to date with all mod cons before I go......hopefully less hassle for me also

Didn't they say the shots were ricocheting off the vehicle? Turns out they were coming from inside it so how were they hitting the outside?

Well that is exactly what I didnt understand! I thought there was a sniper, not a handgun going off inside the car! Or was there both?
And did I mishear, but who was this Michael they mentioned at the end as being in bed with someone? The father was Andy wasnt he? Did one of the girls have a boyfriend there? In actual fact I am not altogether sure how many bodies they found as it all seemed a bit frantic to me. Hopefully the Previously bit will clarify this. Or I may watch the start again to see if I can hear any names.

I also wondered about the armed cop, who heard the call of “more shots fired” and immediately ran back to the house - abandoning two victims, one severely wounded.

The senior policeman (are we supposed to know him? They all greeted him like a long-lost friend) muttered something about a Michael Adams when he was looking at the haulage company's records, then looked at a lot of photos on the wall (the drivers?), pointed at the only black one and said "gotcha". I don't remember any mention of "Michael" being in bed with anyone. Was he an undercover policeman? Is the senior policeman who seems very friendly with the murdered family, corrupt or is he also working undercover? It is so annoying that we have to wait until tomorrow to find out - if we're lucky! - what's going on.

The DCI was in a previous episode. He wasnt crooked then but who knows! I forgot about that rather curiously crammed in (IMHO) scene at the yard and the photo on the wall. I just watched the beginning again and there was an older man (McMorris senior perhaps?) and two females at the first count, so Gabrielle the au pair and Stevie the daughter IIRC.
Re Michael and the bed, I said I might have misheard! Clearly more than I thought.
