A great episode last night, which was mostly about the children. The parents encourage them all the time and are happy to give them their head, even if it leads to the odd little inconvenience such as sheep escaping.

Aren't they the loveliest family? I liked the bit about the pony too, not least because Tony was my husband's name. He would have laughed about Tony the Pony which sounds a bit like a Mafia hitman!

For interest - this is the Julia Bradbury episode (2009) in which I first saw Amanda Owen. She only had 4 children then. The Ravenseat item starts at 20 minutes in and lasts about 4½ minutes:
I misremembered who served Julia the cream tea, it was Amanda herself.

Another great episode, even if they had their quad bikes stolen. Though Clive was very philosophical about it, remarking how did they manage before they had them. Unfortunately an awful lot of thefts happen at farms, some things are stolen to order. Last one next week. (Sob).

Oh no! I couldn't help thinking of the contrast between Amanda and Clive who work so very hard for everything they have and the parasites who think they are entitled to steal the fruits of that hard work. I can't imagine them being prepared to tramp across miles of moor and hill because work needs to be done and someone has deprived them of the easier means of doing it. I hope they were watching and feeling ashamed....though I doubt it on both counts.

Super parents with super children. I will be sad when it finishes....and I hope they catch the b*******s that nicked those quad bikes.

Last episode this week. I shall miss the visit to Ravenseat Farm. A lovely family, hard working. and caring about each other. Harvesting the hay took centre stage last night. Although Reuben is only 15 years old, he is already a good mechanic at fixing tractors.
Nancy the youngest found a "ginormous snail" (her words) and named it Michelle.(not too bad, since snails are hermaphrodite). Raven had her exam results, and managed to get into York University. Reuben made a time capsule and everybody wrote a letter to put in it.
The series will return next Spring.

"Family is important", said Clive....." and our's is a good'un". You are so right Clive, on both counts. I was delighted when they said at the end there will be another series next spring.

It amazes me that none of the children speak with Yorkshire accents.
