Series 2 starts on Tuesday 5 Nov, 8.00 pm Channel 5.
Follows Amanda & Clive Owen and their 9 (yes, 9!) children through a chunk of the farming year, beginning with Easter. I enjoyed series 1, which is still available on the My5 player.

This is one amazing family. Super children, helping on the farm and having a whale of a time. Great viewing

I don't know how I missed the first series, but this is a marvelous documentary of a family that works together. The children may be only 18 to2 years old but they all help with the chores.
Not for them looking at smart phones or laptops, they are out and about on the Yorkshire Moors in all weathers, keeping fit and healthy. Loved the dog kennel. Looking forward to next week's offering.

See if you can get the first series somewhere, it was wonderful.
I just love this family, especially the kids. Reuben has grown so tall in the last year and he is so good with the younger ones. Those three littlest girls are sweethearts and, as in series one, I thought Sidney was very cute.

The family first appeared in a programme called The Dales. A weekly little half hour programme with Ade Edmonton back in 2012. They were so fascinating I think that is probably why they got their own series. Amanda is also a writer, photographer. And speaker.

I'm another one who loves this programme and family.
Last series Amanda was saying that when she went into labour with one of the little ones she was so cosy by the fire and so loving the peace and quiet that she settled down with just the dog and calmly gave birth. She then woke the family up! What an amazing woman.
Also, I think series before last they were filming at xmas (or pretending to!) and the simple presents that they exchanged were so lovingly appreciated. No demands, no junk toys, no must have "in" latest craze. What an amazing family.

I remember that and also on Mothers Day Reuben had secretly made something out of wood for Amanda (can't remember what exactly now) but I thought what a lovely, thoughtful thing it was for a teenaged boy to do. The whole family are a joy....and I wish they would adopt me as a granny!

Yes! She said all her labours were short and only two of her children were born in hospital because the drive to the nearest one was so long. The rest were born in cars, fields etc. on the way.

Well I doubt you would willingly put yourself through 9 labours if yours were torturous and lasted for days.
That said they are a lovely family - more power to them.

Another visit to this delightful family. Lovely to see the toddlers trying to herd the sheep. Also interesting to see them branding the sheep's horns. The children are learning the art of farming and being independent. Loved it when they bought a pony (Tony) and tried getting him into the Landrover.....
