True, though what its feelgood factor mostly reminded me of was Lark Rise to Candleford, which also had an older woman dispensing worldly wisdom to a younger one.
The scene on the beach with the baby turtles was beautifully done, and what a lovely way for Maggie to go, with the two people she loves most in the world. I'm so glad the daughter came good, unlike Clive Russell's son in a previous episode.
And well done Ruby for getting through the mess of the crash and subsequent hospital scenes without a mark on her lovely red dress!

I'm so glad the daughter came good, unlike Clive Russell's son in a previous episode. Yes, a touching scene as her out-of-body self walked with the turtles for her last moments ("They're all going home" she said - but, being picky, weren't they doing the exact opposite, i.e. leaving the nursery and going out into the world?). I wonder if husband and daughter will be staying on for series 2. New series of 'Vera' next week, which I won't be watching. Although a fan of 'Shetland', I never took to 'Vera'.

I think there's an argument for regarding the sea as the home of the turtle.

Don't mind admitting there were a few tears when she died on the beach, beautifully done and I'm glad to hear there'll be another series.

Nor could I geometryman and then watched one purely out of something to watch and the fact others liked it, now I'm totally hooked.

OK hollybeau, too much else to watch at the moment but maybe I'll give Vera another chance next Sunday, when the only competition for me is 'Turkey with Simon Reeve'.

That's good news. This is a lovely feel-good bit of Sunday evening warmth, in the tradition of Death in Paradise and Lark Rise to Candleford.

Bit late to say this now, but TGKH is being repeated on ITV3 on Sunday evenings, which makes me wonder if the long-awaited third series is imminent. Sunday night saw the final appearance of Phyllis Logan's character in a lovely scene that was much admired on here. They're into the second series now but I imagine it's all available on catchup.

Lets hope so. Series 3 has been available in the US (Acorn TV) since last autumn, when it was originally supposed to have aired on ITV.
