No comments at all for this series so far? Anyone would think we were distracted ...
I'm finding the Ruby–Gabriel–Aisha triangle rather tedious, not helped by some pretty wooden acting by Ruby and Gabriel. Smouldering will get you a long way but you do have to change expression from puzzled incomprehension from time to time! Lydia on the other hand is as mercurial as ever, and Neil Morrissey has come a long way since his early days as a mainly comic actor!
Good to see Kenneth Cranham. I hope they don't kill off his character.

I had no idea it was back on! Haven't watched ITV for weeks. And I'm now so out of the habit of watching adverts that I will struggle to watch it ever again. With iPlayer, Britbox and Netflix I honestly can't remember the last ad I saw.

I'm still watching, it continues to be brightly coloured escapist fare, but - - I agree with this. I was hoping Aisha's introduction would lead to some fireworks, but so far only damp squibs.
Kenneth Cranham is still in next Sunday cos he's in the cast list - and so is Dina, who he thought he saw yesterday. I think he's going to continue at least for the rest of this series.

I’m watching it for escapist purposes. I am enjoying it, and the “smouldering” is just fine at the moment! Sometimes you just need a bit of smouldering!

I was after a happy ending but instead we had a cliffhanger!

Yes, paving the way for another series I imagine, which may be a long time coming if it hasn't already been filmed. I believe this series was completed quite a while ago, but wasn't broadcast here because of a bottleneck with other series.
I think it's the first time I've heard a character being played by Amanda Redman refer to her arm – it's generally simply ignored, as preferred by the actress, so it was interesting to have it as an important factor in the story.
Had to smile at Ruby having emergency surgery without general anaesthetic – she was being given oxygen but no anaesthetic that I could see. Then she woke up looking great and knew what had happened to her!
If there is another series, I hope Gabriel does more than look confused.

I hope they do a recap, I have forgotten a lot of it, apparently according to this thread it ended on a cliffhanger and there was a lot of smouldering?

This is good news. There was a cliffhanger in that Gabriel zoomed off into the sunset on his motorbike though I can't remember why now – something to do with unspoken love between himself and Ruby but can't remember the details. A recap would be good as it's been nearly two years!

Has anyone been watching? The series finished last night and there was a lot of tying up of ends, some loose and some from left field, suggesting it might be the end. The writer has said he's ready to write another series (of course!) but not been commissioned as yet. It's like a lovely warm bath on a Sunday evening so I do hope it returns. New characters have been introduced so it won't just be same old same old if it does.
