It wasn't the police, it was the dumbass, self-seeking psychologist.

Is the doctor a secret transvestite, do we think? Those wigs looks like his wife's hair. And the dresses in plastic bags.....

I wondered as well if Doc was a cross dresser, the final scene when JohnJo was found and the press are busy taking pictures was what I meant when I said the police looked stupid, the forensic scientist is an attention seeking pain and just cos he is meant as eye candy doesn't mean I want to see more of him. His behaviour at the press conference was irresponsible to say the least. will watch again

I'm just watching it again and the same PC who found the heart and didn't say anything also wrote a ticket for the van Jonjo was found in. But hours before.

Yup, he'd been told to sort it out by John Sessions earlier, because it was obstructively parked outside the hall where they'd had the police appeal for info on Jonjo. Took him a while to get round to it...
The killer's obviously no stranger to irony, parking the van with the missing person's body in right outside the place where the appeal was held.

He must have been right there as he put Jonjo's phone under the van.

I may be being unfair here as I know the body was a surprise and just fell out of the van, but they didn't exactly make an effort to secure the scene did they? The mother was hugging the corpse, destroying evidence left, right and centre. Understandable I know, but I thought the police were slow.

Right, Annie shouldn't - and I'm sure in real life wouldn't - have started breaking into the van until the press and anyone else had been cleared from the area.
Looks like that bully Baxter was responsible for nearly running Evie & Kieran off the road, but I'm reluctant to think he's connected to Jonjo's kidnapping and death - though how did he know where Evie would be driving, unless through Jonjo or at least his phone? I suppose he could have been stalking her, watched them set off and followed them.
The McGrellishes seem to be hiding someone - he had been keen to go on ahead to "tell his wife" when Annie turned up, and she thought somebody else was there. Daughter Bethan was still at uni they said, so not her. It appears Mrs. McGrellish is pregnant - bit of a gap between this one and Bethan.
There seem to have been some continuity problems with the episode - Den of Geek picks out a couple, such as day suddenly turning to night. One I noticed - when Annie was interviewing Dr. Marr, he said "Your manner is really hostile and aggressive". Moments later when she and Quigley were playing back what was supposed to be a recording of the interview, the word "really" was missing.

Well... curioser and curioser!
Annie's husband about to confess to something or other. Annie's daughter looking pregnant as well. The teacher doing a brilliant job of getting under the psychologist's skin. And it was a very well-written way to put a lot of back-story into a few lines.

Evie looking pregnant? - that went over my head. Was that the significance of Kieran's remark to Dessie at the lochside, that the rabbit he was offering for her would make her throw up? If she is, presumably by Kieran? And that back story - any connection to why the psychologist is up there involved with this particular case?
Each week there seems to be even more to keep us guessing. Kieran's brother it seems is clearly being kept under by his mother, she looked very keen to get him back in off the street before anyone noticed - could be Munchausens as you suggest, or might he know something that she doesn't want coming out? Dessie is starting to feature more, and like Jonjo he seems one of Petrie's "special ones". He now has a gun, supposedly to get rid of a wolf.

This programme is really gripping. I know you drive a truck through some of the inconsistencies but very enjoyable.

There's no bump on Evie as yet but the way she is dressing and the way she stands, she looks pregnant to me. But I may be reading more into it than is there.

I thought she looked a bit pregnant too, but it's probably just her natural shape. Maybe.
