Blimey!!!!! What an opening five minutes to the series finale. Randall in bed with Jamie! Randall full frontal! A highland cattle stampede! Over Randall! I hope that does for him. I'm exhausted already.

I hope that does for him. The trouble with killing off Randall is that he has to have a child first, otherwise Frank will presumably be erased from the timeline which is not only unfortunate for him but could have all sorts of complicated repercussions for Claire.

What is Randall's marital status though, do we know? He might have a child already....
Honestly as that episode went on I felt as if I were watching a torture porn film. On a Sunday afternoon!!!!!! Somehow I managed to get through it all though, lol.

To be fair it was actually aired at 9pm on Thursday so I don't suppose the watershed came into it!
Re a future child, we don't know about all his conquests!

Oh yes, I wasn't implying they shouldn't have aired it or had that content. I was watching my recording on Sunday afternoon when it seemed rather incongruous. My choice.

Huzzah! Thanks for the alert, your Dameship. I daresay it'll be a 'choice' in the Radio Times, but even so I'm not very good at keeping an eye on the listings for the other channels and may have missed it.

I've been looking out for it on More 4 since mid-April as I remember it started in May last year. So it was part-relief / part frustration when they began trailing it last week without a starting date!

Poor Frank Still, glad we got back to the 18th century eventually. It's much more interesting! Jamie and Claire seem to be surprisingly fluent in French, which is handy.

Cracking episode tonight. So Claire is back in present time and has (eventually) confessed all to Frank. I can't remember if we knew she was pregnant at the end of the last series (I think we may have done).
Anyway, regards their ability to speak french, I think certainly back in the 1700s, it was seen as a second language, and was still the second language as recently as the 40s. It's my second language although I may not be as fluent as Claire and certainly wouldn't know the word for smallpox!
I love this series because it's an era of history that I know very little about. Scottish Independence and all that. I never knew if it had been agreed by written agreement or by the sword. And I was never too sure how Bonnie Prince Charlie fitted into it all. I'm looking forward to the rest of this series - and the next 4!

It was a nice touch, Claire noticing how noisy it was in the 20th century. I dread to think how she'd find it these days!
