The action has really picked up now they're back in Scotland (and England) - thank goodness. It's a little frustrating, but not surprising, that the Jacobite Rebellion has been largely depicted as Scots v English, whereas in reality the British Army in the North relied heavily on Scottish troops, both regulars and local militia, including large numbers of Highlanders. Still, at least they showed how the Rebellion certainly wasn't popular with every clan chief. I can't believe what Murtagh did to Simon Callow! Maybe he confused him with Simon Cowell

I couldn't believe it either! And I agree it is much better since returning to Scotland. I got a bit fed up with the French interlude.

I was under the impression, no doubt wrongly, that it was the misguided decision of Charles Stuart not to proceed to London, which he would probably have taken. Outlander showed it as his generals who refused to continue and there was little chance of success. Is that the correct version?
Just checked in wiki.... seems they were right and the generals made the decision, against Charles's wishes, to withdraw.

I haven't seen the whole episode, but I am rather startled by the name chosen for Claire's daughter, Brianna. Isn't that a very modern name? Or was it knocking around in 1745/1948?

Right! Got to the end. All that going on about Culloden and we didn't get to see one bit of it. I wonder if it will be in series 3? God that Brianna was irritating, and pretty poorly acted too IMHO. Wonderful to see Geillis again! I recognised her but completely failed to recognise the significance of the year we were in. Mark me ( ),I am looking forward to the next series.

Yes, I too was miffed that we never saw Culloden. I thought we might get a mid-battle showdown with Jack Randall. What a swizz! I'd forgotten that Geillis had been to the future. Yes, Brianna was irritating (although apparently her name dates back to the 16th century, though uncommon until fairly recently). Still, roll on Season 3!

We Amazon Primers (or Amazon primates?) are looking forward to series 4 on 4th. November, and series 5 & 6 are both confirmed.
Hope it's not too much of a spoiler to say - you haven't seen the last of Geillis.

Starz have confirmed that the upcoming fifth season of Outlander will consist of twelve episodes.
That marks the shortest order yet for the show. Season one consisted of sixteen episodes, while seasons two through four had thirteen episodes.
Production is now underway in Scotland.

I saw an advert on channel 4 the other night for this. Hopefully for series 3 and not a rerun!

Well, what an episode for Frank last week!!!! First he goes and finds another woman, and then he gets killed in a car crash.
I was amazed when Clare had the sheer nerve to refer to Sandy as "your harlot" having agreed to them having an open marriage. Hello Mrs Pot, have you met Mrs Kettle?

On the name Brianna, it certainly existed (as Briana) in the late 16th Century.

While More4somes are enjoying S3, Amazon Primates are suffering another "Droughtlander". S5 which was expected this Autumn will not now be aired in 2019, and possibly not before Spring 2020. Starz refer to this as a scheduling strategy.
At this rate More4 will catch us up!
