I wish you hadn't said that! I cannot abide Andi Peters. The man seems so totally up himself. He is also on QVC presenting food shows, as if he is the God of all things gourmet and he is really unpleasant to his co-presenter IMO.

I was not looking forward to Bake Off on Channel 4. Not a fan of Noel's. I wasn't going to bother watching it. I decided to watch the first episode out of nosiness if I am honest. I love it. Apart from the ads they haven't changed the format at all. I am even liking Noel. Pleased to admit I was wrong and look forward to this every week. I do record it and skim through ads though. I am not a complete convert yet. ;-)
It must be very hot in the tent. Cannot understand why some of the contestants wear so many layers

I am, the same as you bobbieh. I was dead set against a Ch4 version, thinking it would be all razzamatazz and like the worst kind of reality show....and there was also the presence of Noel Fielding who I never liked before. I do now though! I only watched the first one because I thought it's wrong to be against something you haven't seen and was so surprised to find nothing in the format had been changed...even the opening titles and music are the same. And now, if I'm honest, I prefer Sandi (who has always been a favourite) and Noel to Sue and Mel. Noel comes across as such a kind, caring man who I now really like. It was good to see him popping up in Upstart Crow this week.

I loved his comment that someone's 'pastry' I think, was paler than an emo. He just seems a nice chap also his comment about how beautiful people are in Portugal was funny. I do hate that terrible talking cake adverts though.

Sandi clearly gets quite emotional when a contestant has to leave.
Enjoyed this weeks Extra Slice. As ever, the home bakes - good and bad - are wonderful.
I also record and FF the adverts, but the series remains as lovely as ever.

Me too. I record the programme to whizz through the adverts but invariably catch a bit of that one. There was a particularly insensitive one a few weeks back where the slice asked "Who doesn't like baking?" and the rest chorused, "Widows". Speaking as a widow whose husband loved home baked things and who now hasn't much reason to bake a lot (I don't have a sweet tooth), I found that hurtful and not at all amusing. It hasn't been repeated I'm glad to say.

I enjoyed AS. Having not been keen on Julia in the series so far, I thought she was charming, and looked very pretty. She wasn't afraid to take the rise out of herself. I rather liked the look of, and humour , of Phil Wang !Had to google him. (exits slapper mode!} The home bakes were very funny as usual, and Jo Brand is perfect as host. Looking forward to "Italian week".

I love Liam. Even if he does look like a young Andi Peters.Yann's science pies were not good, whereas Liam's football ones were much better. I think that's why he won through. Watching the football the other night I was thinking he has a look of Raheem Sterling.

Lor this is making me want to go back to Italy! The best pizza I ever had was at a little roadside cafe just outside Bologna. God it was heaven in my mouth.

I've worked in kitchens that hot. It's really not fun.
