Finally got some stroopwafels. Disappointed - just sweet with no flavour in the biscuits. But then I prefer savoury to sweet anyway.

I was sorry to see Julia go, I rather liked her. Did she say she was only 21? I was a bit surprised Stacey survived as Paul doesn't seem all that keen on her, to me.

I wasn't surprised to see Julia go. She was lucky to survive last week, really. I reckon Stacey could be next week. Or possibly Yan.

I think Stacey's showstopper saved her. OH splurted his coffee when Julia said she was pleased with the remarks for hers.I can't say I took to her, but couldn't put my finger on why. Then this morning someone on FB asked if anyone else thought she looked like Tracy Emin! That's who she reminded me of. She always seemed a bit too histrionic for my liking.

A big cheer from me when the Star Baker was announced. (#Cynthia) Liam is just so likable.

Yes - we cheered for Liam.
Sorry to see Julia go, but she did well to reach the final 7.
Love the way Jan was helping others. Julia did not seem to remember that her mold/tin opened at the ends.
Italian week next week - another new idea! And by the looks of the trailer, they had to deep fry etc on one of the hottest days of the summer....

Oh Julia, I will miss you. I thought she was very sweet.
One thing intrigues me. Over what time period are the episodes filmed? Yann has been sporting that graze on her chin from coming off her bike for weeks now. It has never looked particularly serious so, if they only film at weekends I would have expected it to have gone by now. I shall be looking for it next week again!

The best way to eat them is to put one on the top of your cuppa, only for a few seconds mind of it will implode and sink into the liquid. Just enough to make the caramel go soft and then they taste so much better. A better Dutch treat are bitterballen with a good pint!

I think for the sake of continuity one of the production staff has to keep pushing off her bike.

I was wondering exactly the same thing vicky. I was beginning to think I had misunderstood when it was explained away as a graze. I was beginning to think perhaps it's a birthmark. I suppose it depends how deep it was. When Max had an accident on his bike when he was about 11, it took months for the grazes to clear up.

Grazes can take a while. Especially if you scratch them.

Pleased that Liam got Star Baker, although a little surprised given that Yann was such a success with the technical as well as the showstopper.
I liked Julia, but she really wasn't up to standard I'm afraid.

I love Liam. Even if he does look like a young Andi Peters.
Yann's science pies were not good, whereas Liam's football ones were much better. I think that's why he won through.

Can't drink hot liquids at the moment - don't think cold milk or fruit juice would make the caramel soften! Really missing being able to drink a proper cup of tea - cold tea isn't nice.

That's who he reminds me of! Yann was over ambitious with her decorations but she is so lovely and so helpful. Twice she was on hand to pitch in when others were having problems. Pointing out to Julia that her tin opened on its hinge was classic.
