Don't remember steam puddings in previous series.....nice to see an old fashioned classic.
Glad Liam is still in there - I wonder WHY his jelly did not set? They didn't say. Presumably not enough gellatin. (I'd have bought a packet Rowantrees one and sneaked it in).
The new team members are fine and the programme is just as lovely as before. Only problem is the ENDLESS adverts.
And I suppose we will not get a Junior version now - unless Ch4 let CBBC make one independently....?
(Dutch SIL introduced us to the wicked delights of the Stroopwaffle.....yummy, and has been said, now available in quite a lot of supermarkets. And doubtless MORE after that episode....)

Weren't they supposed to be making school puddings? The only ones I remember are spotted dick with yellow custard and chocolate pudding with chocolate custard, but then it was in the early 1950s.
I remember one day, the dinner monitor dropped the jug containing chocolate custard and it went all over my olive green school uniform skirt. It removed all the colour from the skirt, so goodness knows what was in it!

At the beginning of this week's programme I think someone mentioned Pineapple? I can recall from early days when my brain functioned better pineapple prevents gelatine from setting......was it Liam ? I too would like Liam to stay !

"Spotted Dick" would be a double meaning even too far for Bake Off!

My two favourite contestants are Julia and Liam so I am pleased they are both still in the tent. Poor Julia was so convinced she was going to be the one leaving this week; I almost cried with her at the end!
I thought most of the show-stoppers looked amazing, especially Stephen's Stars and Stripes flag....pity it didn't taste as good as it looked. I often had results that didn't look good in school cookery lessons so lost marks as a result. My dad would always manfully eat everything I brought home and tell me it was good and it was what it tasted like that mattered. He had never heard of Bake Off and Paul Hollywood in those far-off days!

I always give my loose change to the Salvation Army person who stands outside of my Marks and Sparks store, whilst politely refusing the proffered issue of The War Cry...however....I was very nearly tempted to accept it this morning when I saw Noel's (along with Prue,Paul and Sandi) smiling face on the cover. At just nineteen I think Liam is a very talented baker and I hope he goes far in this competition.

Bet Liam is not short of people eager to try out his bakes at Uni. He is such a nice, natural lad - I'd love him to win.

So having waded through the mince pies etc to locate some stroopwafels, I am distinctly underwhelmed.

Enjoyed Extra Slice....why do people who attempt Unicorn themed cakes believe that these mythical beasts had badly fitted dentures?

Gosh those pies looked good. Now I’m hungry - why did I watch this so late at night? Had to watch something lighter after Dr Foster, but now I’m craving pie!

Someone on social media bemoaning Julia being sent home has just asked if anyone thought she looked like Tracey Emin! Yes! I knew she reminded me of someone.I thought it was right she went as Stacey's pie at the end was better. Otherwise they were neck and neck.
