You know Bidie, I never wholly trust that what I see in this kind of pre-recorded programme is an entirely true reflection of what actually happened. The Affair of the Baked Alaska was notoriously edited in a misleading fashion, when the broadcast version seemed to suggest that a constestant had removed a rival's Baked Alaska from the freezer for an extended period in a deliberate act of sabotage, when in reality it was out for less than a minute.

Good point - but it was, imo, highly dangerous to imply that a broken oven door could be held shut - whilst things were inside cooking.

It certainly was....just like the silly thing a couple of weeks into the series when Sandi appeared to shut Noel in a fridge or a freezer. In the end it's the impression given that counts. Btw, I thought the actual cake element of the show-stoppers looked very unappetising. I don't think I would have wanted to try any. I did like the look of the clangers though.

Argh!!! Haven't had time to watch my recording of last night's semi-final yet but, thanks to the @*!@*! newspaper I know the outcome. Having a quick look through it at breakfast time, turned the page and there, where I couldn't avoid seeing it, was a photo of three Bake Off contestants with the headline "And then there were three". I shall watch but it has spoilt it for me. I am SO annoyed.

I didn't watch it live intending to catch up this morning. When I put the internet on and opened a new page, there was an article at the top saying there was a hoo-ha about how the voting had altered for this episode but thankfully did not give the result, phew!

What's hot news? I didn't see any change in the voting. I didn't know there was any voting!

What's hot news? I didn't see any change in the voting. I didn't know there was any voting! Sorry if 'vote' has confused - it was about how the decision was arrived at. Paul H said that if it was too close to call between the two, they would go back over previous programmes to help. Some viewers thought this was out of line as it should be about performance on the day.

Correct 3 in the final, imo (although Liam should have a Wild Card!!!!). Stacey gave herself too much to do and flapped the whole time. She nearly knocked her flamingo meringues to the floor trying to get her chocolate work out the moulds.....
Looking forward to the final. I love how all the previous contestants, and their families, are asked back for a final picnic.
And, if I remember correctly, we get to hear how they are all doing after filming....

It's the TEETH. Is there any reason why every Unicorn cake has badly made dentures? You should be aiming for My Little Pony - not my little nightmare.

I have noticed those same teeth appearing regardless of what animal is being made. Is there a standard pack of baking accessories including teeth that you can buy somewhere?

Yes I think you can buy false teeth made entirely of sugar, in the same place as you buy other novelty sweet items. Suppose if you ate too many you would soon be needing the real false teeth!
