I find the various characters rather fun. They often remind me of Dickensian characters.
I thought that Lady Denham might expire at some point, and then give everyone a shock over to whom she leaves her pile of money!

Yes! She plays them all off against each other but does she actually update her will when she changes her favourite? I doubt it. The will could be years old!

Aha! The will revealed and they all get nothing, lol. It would have all gone to help poor old Tom, who despite poverty seems to be living rather comfortably in the London House. Then the will is destroyed! So who gets it all then, just the chap from The House of Incest or the sister too?
So this was quite a raunchy episode, with Edward and Clara having it off on the floor in, was it the hall??? Not to mention the brothel. This seems more and more like a gothic novel to me! I am still enjoying it though.

Edward and Clara seem very well suited, don’t they? Equally unscrupulous. Now that they’ve thrown in together, I’m expecting them to plot to kill Lady Whatsit. I have a feeling, though that the sister will come good.
Charlotte still predictably annoying.

I'm enjoying it a lot, and not finding Charlotte at all annoying (though I can see why some might do). The stagecoach chase was like something out of a western movie.
I reckon Esther will end up with Lord Babington, who she earlier rejected, after all.

We were thinking that its possible Lady Denham might have made another will, since the one that's been found. No one mentioned what date it was written on.
Anyway, she might not die...... yet!

I don't know what to call this series... Randyton? Hand Shandyton?
By the laws of Austen, doesn't everyone single have to end up wedded? Charlotte to broody brother, that's obvious. Sexy sister to well meaning Lord. That just leaves the heiress to the builder with ideas above his station? Mmmm.
Will Sophie (cousin to Claudia) Winkleman just wave her fairy godmother wand and make it all happen?
I can't say I care one way or the other. Silly enough nonsense for a Sunday night, but I hope there's something better on next week.

Coming soon, I’m sure.

Well, what an ending! Not at all Jane Austen was it? I kept looking at the timeline and thinking well he has 5 minutes left, now two minutes left.... oh the titles are running. Boo! I also expected Arthur and Georgiana to be a couple, albeit an odd one, but he seemed quite jovial with her and made her cheerful. Well done to the Babingtons though.

Easy to spot that although there was one happy ending, the rest of the characters have plenty of stories left in them. Jane Austin would have had Lady Denham die, to save the day. But this way, there is still lots of plot to be used to make another series.
Which I will watch, as I've enjoyed it. (But only one more series, please, don't do it to death)

No I feel cheated. That's not a proper ending.

Sanditon, Second Series:
The 1st episode opens with a funeral - gradually, we realise that Lady Denham has indeed, died. Before then, apparently, she had invited our heroine, Charlotte, to live with her as she was lonely after throwing out her heirs and the marriage of Esther.
We are reminded of the characters from the first series, and introduced to one or two new ones. At the end of this episode, there is a shock ending as Lady Denham had left half of her money to the town of Sanditon for its improvement, and the other half, plus her massive residence, to Charlotte.
In the second episode we see a new family move into the town: a dippy widow and her two attractive daughters. We see Arthur's sister complaining of being unwell, only this time, it's not her imagination, and she dies, much to the shock of her brother. Charlotte is visited by Sidney, who has not married his heiress yet, but he says that he is thinking of breaking things off with her as the town is now saved by the legacy. However, he feels that the way he has treated Charlotte, plus her new found status, means that he can no longer form a relationship with her.
Charlotte begins to get closer to the architect, but he doesn't want to be called a gold digger so repels her advances. There is a dramatically bad storm, and part of the town floods - during this, Sidney disappears which worries everyone but eventually he is found and declared a hero for saving a family from death.
Arthur begins to call upon the widow and her daughters, and forms a friendship - but is it the widow herself, or the eldest daughter, who he is attracted to?
There is a ball in the Autumn, where Charlotte turns up with Georgiana, who has now been secretly meeting her handsome young riding instructor and falling for him, even though Sidney would frown upon the match....
Charlotte's younger sister arrives to live with her, and proves to be a problem as she behaves badly, and also she fancies the young architect, not knowing his past history with Charlotte.
Sidney and Charlotte try to avoid each other, but seem to be constantly thrown together by circumstances. Everything comes to a head during a Christmas Ball, where Charlotte says something which is overheard and misconstrued by Sidney but all the relationships become finalised and sorted in the last ten minutes of the series......

I enjoyed this series, but I hated the ending. If there is a new series it will be just Andrew Davis's input and no Jane Austin I reckon.
