My US friends loved the first series, so I’m not surprised the audience there got it resurrected. I might get BritBox for a while because i remember it as an enjoyable watch (even the bits where I was rolling my eyes). Have to say, though, I don’t even remember what the big cliffhanger was!

Series 2 starts on ITV at 9.00 on Friday 22 July. Hurrah! It won’t be the same for me without the House of Incest though.

Have just today finished watching the first season on ITV hub. Surprised that people here are going on about a cliffhanger! What cliffhanger ! Have I missed something!

ITV have been repeating series one in that timeslot on Fridays, but they've only got up to episode five tonight. Seems really strange that they're not showing the last three episodes before starting on series two. 😞

I watched the “last” episode of season 1 last night to jog my memory for the start of season 2. I was also surprised to see it wasn’t the finale at all. If they do jump straight into 2 next week, viewers are going to be mightily confused.
Marion, according to IMDB, Evil Edward continues his, um, evilness through season 2. So Esther probably hasn’t escaped his clutches.

I'm glad I read this thread as we've been watching S1 of Sanditon, not realising it had already been shown. So at least we are now forewarned that next Friday's is the first of a new series without the other being finished! I shall have to 'find' 3 hours to watch the final 3 eps before Friday. (We don't usually binge-watch as a rule as MrC's eye hurts too much after an hour or so). Will have to stagger it over 3 days. So thank you all for pointing it out.

I totally agree, marion. I'd been recording it so I could binge-watch again prior to series 2 starting, and it was only your post on 12th July that alerted me to the fact that not all episodes of series 1 had been shown yet before the second series was starting. Maybe they wanted to drive traffic to the ITVHub to watch the last three episodes. |

I watched episode 1 of series 2 and don’t think it is as good as series 1, but still enjoyable. The best one in it is the female half of the House of Incest imho.
Question: if Miss Lambe is so rich, how come the best place they can find for her is the boring religious couple’s?

One thing I cannot follow is all this stuff about Sydney’s trip to the Caribbean. What business did he have to sort out? Is Georgiana going to end up losing all her money or did we discover the other week that that had definitely been resolved. I still cannot understand why such a rich heiress is pottering around Sanditon. And the niece to whom Charlotte is governess is 18. Wasn’t that a bit old to be in the schoolroom in those days? I’d have thought she would have been out by then. I do hope Lord Babbington returns next week!!!! Edward is such a piece of work, 😡.

What on earth is wrong with poor Charlotte? Thats twice shes been dumped now. And how odd she is apparently engaged to this Ralph Starling whom none of the Parkers have met.... Or is he from her home county? I hope series 3 airs soon!
Thankfully Edward has been revealed as the villain he is. But is Esther going to pass this baby off as her son by Lord Babbington?
