Just been catching up with the men's doubles final, which has had very little reporting. Shame, as it was a cracker of a match, with poor Mahut being injured several times including being whacked just above the eye by a ball, which required medical attention. Being hit in the face can never be described as lucky, but it would have been so much worse if it had hit his eye.
And the ladies' doubles final has been postponed until after the men's singles this afternoon – I wonder how they feel about that, having waited for hours yesterday to play?

That was amazing although I have to admit to not being able to watch the final points, even though I wasn't following either. The Duchess of Cambridge is stunning. Everything she does seems elegant, effortless and without fuss. The only distasteful comment I heard was from Andrew Castle - something about Mirka Federer's engagement ring. Completely unnecessary. So that's it for another year. Apart from the boat race, the only televised sport I watch ..... although. I hear there's some netball on somewhere. |

A fab, fab match. And I admired Djokovic’s attitude on court. He went up in my estimation today. Both players were amazing.

Sorry, have been watching a recording of Montalbano which is why I hadn't replied sooner. AC seems besotted by other peoples' earnings, monetary worth, etc. and, from memory, mentioned something along those lines at every match. Vulgar. No doubt he'll be there next year. |

...standard of commentary was pretty good this year...even John Inverdale improved a little towards the end....not keen on Claire in the round-up show though...

Great final. Sad Federer lost though.
Agree about the Castle comments. Totally out of order. He is there to discuss the match....although he is pretty c*** at that !

I assume he's there because he's a professional broadcaster, while the others are tennis experts. To be fair, he was a tennis pro himself at one time so in theory he's ideal for the job. I like the way he frequently asks the experts about why a player would play a particular shot, why it worked or didn't, and so on, which I do find informative. But his obsession with money is, as Fox says, vulgar and someone should be having a word. I don't know which annoys me more, that or Sue's little girly fawning on Roger and Serena!
