This grew on me. I didnt think I would be able to enjoy it given the subject matter, but it did become rather funny. Isn't the seedy detective played by the chap who was the dashing hero in The Paradise. Talk about a change of look. (I loved that show.)

It's growing on me too. I didn't realise Ellie Haddington is Scottish; I know her best from Foyle's War where she was Hilda Pierce but she's a character actress who pops up all over the place.

Yes, Emun Elliott. I liked The Paradise too, which was killed off before its time imo. It didn't help that Sarah Lancashire had to quit due to a filming schedule screw-up that meant it clashed with her work on Last Tango in Halifax and she couldn't do both - I remember her being quite annoyed about that. Some compared it unfavourably with Mr. Selfridge but I thought The Paradise was much the better of the two.
I've watched episode 2 of Guilt now and am enjoying it. Basically nobody is quite what they seem and everyone's up to something!

It seemed to take a different turn in episode two: less humour and more mystery. I am intrigued!

Is it just me or is there something not quite right about the American woman?

She clearly isn't who or what she claims to be.

Yes, and ever more complicated. Everyone has something to hide!

There was a trailer for this yesterday evening which suggested it's a black comedy rather than straight drama. That may be my misperception though, I'll still watch with an open mind! What happened to the "comedy" in this? There were a few humorous moments in the first episode but since then nothing to even raise a smile for me. It is an intriguing crime story though and it certainly took an interesting turn at the end of last night's programme.

Yes, great to see lovely twinkly Bill Paterson as a villain!

The story is getting a bit dark now isn't it.

Convoluted right to the end, but satisfying as the many loose ends came together nicely. Look forward to hearing everyone's views when you've watched next week.

Is it the last one next week....only 4 episodes?

Yes, just the four. It could have been extended easily over six, I think.
Rather impressed by Ruth Bradley's American accent – she's from Dublin. She was also impressive in Humans, where her character was English.
